#1-L.A. Halos(18-2)-The Halos start the season with the #1 spot after winning Regional Minors Elite #1 last season. L.A. won their last 3 playoff games including the championship by a combined 10 points in one of the most exciting championship runs ever. They will have a very tough time trying to repeat this season in a conference that is stacked to the hilt. The Halos rematch against the Pelicans comes early this season when they host #2 Louisiana in week 3.

#2-Louisiana Screaming Pelicans(17-2)-Louisiana starts off in the #2 slot after rolling over most of the league last year in dominating fashion. The Pelicans are also the defending GLB tourney champion after crushing every team they faced last season. They would easily be the #1 seed if it weren't for the pesky Halos who kept the Pelicans off the field in 2 losses last season, including the conference championship. Louisiana can get the monkey off their back in week 3 when they travel to face L.A.

#3-Doinitin Djibouti(15-3)-The Djibouti went 14-2 in Elite #1 last season and secure the #3 spot in the poll. Doinitin lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs against the Halos in a heart-breaking loss, 35-38.The Djibouti open the season against one of the tougher western conference teams, Great Songs(18-1) in week 1. The Djibouti has what it takes to win it all.

#4 Tradewest Battletoads-(15-5)-Tradewest starts off the poll in the #4 slot after nearly upsetting the Halos in the championship game last season. The Toads were in a position to win, but gave up some big plays late and came up short, 24-27. They are the highest ranking elite #1 team from Zeta. They end the season facing 7 top 10 teams in a row, and play a 3 game stretch early vs last seasons top zeta teams.

#5 Texas Lone Stars(13-5)-The Lone Stars begin season 21 as the #5 seed after going 12-4 last season. Texas ended up losing in the 2nd round of the playoffs to the #2 Louisiana Screaming Pelicans, 59-0. They will be looking to rebound after that horrific loss and have struggled a little bit in preseason. The toughest part of the schedule is in the middle, and they end the season against the Pelicans in a game that could have playoff implications.

#6-World Legends(12-5)-The Legends start in the #6 slot after going 12-4 last season in alpha. They lost in the first round of the playoffs against the Lone Stars, 23-21, but they had their chances. The Legends bring some of the best built dots in the league to the table so they should be a serious force to be reckoned with. They have more of a balanced schedule, and it gets started early when they travel to face the Mayan Prophecy in week 2.

#7 Windsor Nobles(14-5)-The Nobles went all the way to the conference championship last season only to fall 13-0 to the Battletoads in a defensive war. The Nobles start off with the #7 seed, and it will be tested early when they host the #2 Louisiana Screaming Pelicans in week 2, but the meat of their schedule is in the middle.

#8 Stuttgart Blitzkrieg(13-5)- Stuttgart starts off as the #8 after going 12-4 and going to the 2nd round of the playoffs from zeta last season. They ended up losing to #4 Tradewest, 19-0 in the 2nd round, but they are looking to rebound with an impressive preseason. The Blitzkrieg will be tested early as they face #4 Tradewest on week 2 and #3 Doinitin week 3.

#9 Cheers is filmed in front of a live studio audience(12-6) -Cheers starts off the poll in the #9 hole, after going 11-5 last season and winning their first round playoff game against the Canucklehead Brigade, 24-17. They have some quick early tests with the Village Dogs week 2, followed by the #4 Battletoads week 3. They finish the season vs the Halos in a game that could have playoff implications.

#10 Canucklehead Brigade(12-5) - The Brigade comes in at the #10 spot after going 12-4 in zeta last season. They ended up forcing their first round playoff game to OT before #9 Cheers ended the dream once and for all. The Brigade have a brutal open to the season facing 6 teams from the preseason top 10 in their first 7 games.

Teams on the bubble ready to jump into the top 10
Mayan Prophecy 2012(11-6), Village Dogs(10-7), Osaka Storm (10-7), FOUR HORSEMEN(10-7), Bali Insurrection(10-7), Algoma Blames Stu(9-8), Half Moon Bay Breakers(19-1), Czech Yourself(20-0)

That was tougher than I thought. More of a placeholder from last season. The poll will probably change frequently with the level of teams in the league and I doubt the Halos will hold on to the #1 spot for long, especially with Louisiana coming to town week 3.

I considered the Western teams, but they will need to win impressively in their league games, and I will also check their tourney games to gauge them better so they have a chance to jump into the poll.

Great write up as always. Glad to see you started early this season....i was jonesing

That being said....nice call on the #1 seed. I thought you were gonna jinx us again by trying to go humble, and put the Halos in 2nd place. I'm pumped by the early games this season. We should see some games that will decide the playoff seedings early, plus I'm looking forward to the grudge match in week 3.

Bold Prediction for the East: TLS won't make the playoffs this season. No real dot reason behind it....I just don't like bell ringers....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_I-4XS3XtZQ love ya nick

Bold Prediction for the West: Great Songs will be in your top 5 by the end of the season. They are some beastly dots, and will roll through the West.

Halo,

Thanks for doing this. As newcomers to elite, Helsinki is cautious, but I expect us to bust some heads before we are through. GL to all. We shall see how this shakes out.

ha, I love that video... I'm not so sure we'll make the playoffs either. This league is damn tough. Plus, the guys that put in all the work on this team (Kong & Corey) are focuses on trying to get their teams to WL. I guess we'll see how this season goes.

I predict we'll have a season similar to last season. We started out 1-3... That was embarrasing, so we tried a little harder and finished 12-4. But you're right! 95% of my focus is on the Pros, but if this gets embarrasing again we'll have to try harder, but the competition is brutal!

You forgot to add we knocked the Halos out of the GLB Tourney and beat them in the regular season last season
