Like many of you, I put in a support ticket in an attempt to get the two Gold teams that are under new ownership demoted back to Silver. Nothing against the new owners, but you simply didn't earn your way here like the rest of us did. How would the other WL owners feel if one of us bought a WL team that suddenly became available without earning our way into the WL like the rest of them did? I was also told that wasn't going to happen because they were not one of the bottom 8 teams that were demoted. I guess this is a new policy where there are no longer doing manual demotions from Gold.

I sent a reply back saying that these teams changed ownership before the other teams were demoted and that they should have been flagged for demotion at that time because they did not earn their way into Gold like the rest of us did.. I got a reply back from an admin saying that the demotion procedure is automatic and because the teams that changed ownership were not one of the 8 to be demoted, they were to be left in Gold for S21. However, the admin did say that he agrees with us on this point and would like us to submit an official suggestion so he can take it to Bort.

Since this affects us all, I think we should hash out exactly what we want and then pick someone to post the suggestion for us.

What I think we want is that besides the normal 8 teams that are demoted each season, any team that goes CPU anytime during the season should be auto-flagged for demotion no matter who the new owner is. Or do we want to make it more severe and say any Gold team that changes ownership needs to be demoted?

Thoughts?

Thanks, but no thanks, we need this one carefully worded.

I was kidding.

I did try and post a thread about reducing false starts in PW, but it got locked because I threw in something about making DT's anon-glamour position

I entered a support ticket before they were bought and was given the response "at least they have a full roster"

Pisses me off

needs to be carefully worded.

What if something happens to the owner. He fails to login the team goes cpu.
But maybe someone on the team wants to buy them and continue the fight.
I think that would be ok.

I disagree on this. If the owner goes CPU, team should demote. Only way I see it being fair for new ownership to not require demotion is if it is an above the table request made to support by the current owner and agreed to by the new owner prior to the transaction.

How about something like this:

This suggestion is about agents being allowed to buy teams already located in s "premier" league. For instance, if a team were sold in the World League, GLB should not allow an agent to just buy the team and remain in the World League. Being placed in that league should be due to working and winning your way through the ranks in order to get there. The same can be said for the Peewee Gold League. While clearly not on the same level as the World League, it is in fact the "Crown Jewel" of Peewee Dotball. An agent should not be allowed to simply buy into the Gold League. If this is allowed on any level, it only works to degrade the quality of the competition in that league. As well as diminishing the feeling of accomplishment that goes along with winning your way into the league. In essence, this is what I'm suggesting:

In the event that an owner of a team located in any "premier" league sells his/her team, that team will be automatically flagged for demotion and not sold to a new owner until that demotion occurs.

That works, a different approach from my suggestion, but one I like better. Just make it so people can't buy Gold teams, so if a team does go CPU, it remains CPU for the remainder of the season and then is auto-demoted at the end of the season.

Yeah, it's really not a perfect plan, as CPU teams suck, but so do shitty teams that are out of their element. If they turn out to be a good team, and let's go as far as saying they were so good that they actually won Gold. Would that be OK with anyone either? I'd be pretty pissed off personally. If they're that good, and belong in Gold, they can win their way here.

You probably should also consider including provisions for teams that want to demote from Gold. Right now they are not allowing it so the only recourse is to either let your team go CPU or if you want to keep your team then fill it with CPU players for a season to get into the bottom tier of teams for demotion at the end of the season.

Such is the case of the Wood Village Whistle Pigs. A demotion was requested and denied. The Whistle Pigs are a No/No team and at a huge disadvantage when competing in Gold. So they will be filled with CPU players for Season 21.

I think we need to cross 1 bridge at a time. While I completely agree with you, I really see this as 2 separate issues. Just my .02

For the record, I have no desire to be the one who posts the suggestion, as I probably wouldn't spend the time keeping the debate alive long enough to see it through. Far to lazy for that

That being said..... back to you Gerr
