These are just my opinions are are provided for amusement more than anything else.
Bracket 1:
#1. Hollywood Legends VS #8. Lima Lucha Libres
Regular Season Game: Hollywood 62-7.
They ran all over the #9th ranked rushing defense racking up 375.5 yards, and a 5.5 yards per carry. Lima could try to stack their defense against the run, but in that same game Hollywood went 13-14 passing, and a 9.5 yards per attempt. Lima on the other hand has risen to the occasion before, defeating Cobra Kai 20-14. However, I think they are overmatched this game.
Prediction: Hollywood defeats Lima 32-7
Bracket 2:
#4. Holland Hashpipes VS #5. Durham Ice Odyssey
Regular Season Game: Holland 19-17
In their regular season game 2nd quarter turnover with 3:45 left by Durham on their own 43, gave the ball to Holland, who then marched down the field and kicked a FG with 1 second on the clock. That FG was the difference in the game.
Both teams tend to keep the scores close, preferring to grind it out, but both are also capable of big plays either in the passing or rushing game. With an average level of 49 and many players at 47th level (as of this writing) I think Holland might have held off on boosting some of their players. This could make a significant difference in the playoff picture if true.
Prediction: Holland defeats Durham 25-13
Bracket 3:
#2. Waikikamukau Wop-Wops VS #7. 5th Masterminds
Regular Season Game: Wop-Wops 31-24
In their regular season game, the stat that sticks out the most is Broken Tackles. The Wop-Wop's rushers broke 41 tackles on their way to 206 yards rushing, with 2 TD's, with HB Bo Dacious Jr. picking up another on a 42 yard Strong I Screen. The 5th's on the other hand were very efficient with their offense, but found themselves in 3rd and long too often.
The Wop-Wops have the best Pass Defense in the Conference, and the #1 overall Defense. The 5ths are 4th in both on offense. Their 4.7 yards per carry is the 3rd best in the league though, and I think that is going to be their best shot at winning the game. The Wop-Wops on the other hand have the 4th best rushing team in the Conference, to go against the 5ths 10th ranked rush defense, and they love to run, so I think they are in good shape there.
Prediction: Wop-Wops 24-14
Bracket 4:
3. Cobra Kai VS 6. Reddog's Rowdy Friends
Regular Season Game: Cobra Kai 38-0
These 2 teams have actually played against each other twice this season. Cobra Kai won both matches 52-0 and 38-0 respectively. Both times racking up massive amounts of passing yards, and holding the Reddog's to anemic levels of offense. Their one saving grace is that they seem to be able to hold the Cobra's rushing to reasonable levels.
No matter how you slice it, the Reddog's have their work cut out for them. They can only hope to win this game by keeping the score close, and catching some breaks. For my prediction though, I am going to have to go with history here.
Prediction: Cobra Kai 26-10
Hope you enjoyed the write up.
