Alrighty then, here we are for another week. I only got 1 game wrong, unfortunately it was my own.... bugger.
So that puts me at 18/24 or 75% if it makes it easier.
Let us get one with it I suppose:
Surabaya Tigers (5-0) v Portland Microbrews (3-2)
Another big win for the Tigers last week, dispatching Hanoi with great expertise. The Microbrews on the other hand lost last week, beaten into submission by the Kings.
Portland is in for another tough game, and their D is going to be stretched to the limit, trying to keep Surabaya under control, their D-Line just doesn't look up to the task. Surabaya on the other hand is strong all over the park, and should win this by a comfortable margin as they pound Portland into dust on the ground.
Surabaya by 14.
Riverside Kings (5-0) v Yokohama Yaks (5-0)
So, battle of the undefeated teams this week, after both had comfortable wins against their opponents last week. This is going to be a big test for the D's of both teams, whose only strong opponent so far this season have been Portland (for both teams), and there the Kings have the edge, as the Yak's secondary is nothing special, and may struggle to control the Kings passing game, what there is of it at least. Offensively the teams are hard to split, so this will really come down to D, and the Kings have em beat there from my view.
Kings by 7.
Vietnam Veterans (4-1) v Mean Street Metalheads (3-2)
Big game from the Vets last week, getting past the previously undefeated Wastes, and they'll be looking to do the same thing to the Metalheads, who had an easy win vs Kenosha.
Well, the Veterans showed they have a passing game after all last week, and that teams had better be worried about it. The Metalheads on the other hand, rely on their HB a bit too much, and when he gets shutdown (as he did in their losses v Phuket & Southern) they struggle to win games. Defensively the Metalheads could also be in trouble, as their secondary hasn't performed well against teams with a strong passing attack. Bet on the Veterans to hand out another dose of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Veterans by 10.
Southern Wastes (4-1) v Monte Cristo Avengers (2-3)
Both these teams lost last week, and will be looking for revenge, but the Avengers may discover it is hard to find this week, as their Passing D faces another big test, this time against the best Passing O in the conference.
Both teams run a fairly Pass-heavy offense, but the Wastes have just been better at it so far, and defensively the Wastes are clearly the better side, with half the yards allowed in passing or rushing, though granted the Wastes haven't faced Surabaya yet. On the whole I dont see Monte Cristo having much chance of winning, but miracles can happen...
Wastes by 14.
Phuket Blazers (3-2) v Hong Kong Valley Knights (2-3)
Mid-table clash here, with 2 teams fighting for a top 8 spot, and with some tough games coming up for Hong Kong, they are going to need any win they can scrounge.
But unfortunately for them they face a Blazers team that has alot of new signings on their team, and they look a much better team from when they lost to the Wastes back in Week 2. The Valley Knights appear to be beaten at every position this game, and against the 3rd best Passing Offense in the conference, their secondary are in big trouble. Sure they have the 2nd least passing yards allowed, but they haven't faced a any of the big passing teams yet.
Blazers by 13.
Tiananmen Square Dancers (2-3) v Toungoo Tigers (0-5)
Two teams hoping for a better start to the season face off, but the Toungoo Tigers still have a ways to go before they are likely to record their first win of the season...
This should be a pretty one sided game, as one of the better defenses (better then their 2-3 record shows) faces possibly the worst Offense in the league. After having already faced all 3 undefeated teams this season, the Dancers season can only get better.
Tiananmen Square by 20.
Cebu Matador (1-4) v Hanoi Heat (0-5)
Two struggling teams that hoped for better before the season started, now look to improve their standings, and maybe have a outside shot at the playoffs, though it is becoming a very long shot...
This game isn't an easy one to call, with both teams having a pretty strong Offense, and a Defense with a few holes in it. Both teams lack a strong #2 CB, but for Cebu that is about the only hole present, while Hanoi have troubles in the D-Line as well. Offensively they are about even, and this game could come down, once again, to which defensive squad holds the best, which I beleive will be Cebu.
Matador by 6.
Shanghai Steelers (1-4) v Kenosha Bootleggers (0-5)
The other bottom of the table fight this week, But I have good feelings about Kenosha this week, who have bought quite a few players in recent weeks, and will look to improve from the horrific start they've had.
This is likely to be a close game, with both teams lacking the big star players in some of the other teams, meaning the weaknesses in their teams may be easier to conceal. No glaring strentghs or weaknesses to report in either team, and this will be a close one. But I'm going to go with Kenosha this week, I think this is their time.

And there we have it folks, another round completed. Lets see how we go.
