WEEK 12 RANKINGS
LION

1 Canton (11-0) - Should go undefeated the rest of the way.

2 Somalia Pirates (10-1) - Squeaked away with a hard fought win over GP and are going to be fighting to hold the 2 seed all the way to the finish.

3 Philly Franklins (10-1) - Dominated the Hall but better beware of Zambezi up next. Only one gimme game left so they can't slip up if they want to move up.

4 San Diego (10-1) - I've gotta move them up with a 2 game lead over CWE but these last 5 games will really determine their seeding. All 5 are against teams that should be in the playoffs.

5 CWE (8-3) - Expected the loss and next up is a dangerous Punch squad that just gave Somalia fits.

6 Lincoln (8-3) - Solid win over Nile and now they get the 10-1 AquaBats. Lincoln has struggled against the 1 loss teams this season so they need to watch out for the young team.

7 Zambezi Silverbacks (6-5) - Steamrolled the Outlaws but can they keep that going against Philly this week? Then comes the annual battle with their Silverbacks namesakes.

8 Guyana Punch (6-5) - Played one of the top squads this season to the limit. They get 2 more weeks to try and get a huge win with CWE and Canton lined up.

9 Hall of Heroes (3-8) - They can finish the season strong with some decent match-ups left.

10 Nile River Assassins (4-7) - Pretty tough stretch remaining so maybe 2 wins left at best.

11 Texas Longhorns (2-9) - Might be just a farm team but that's enough to get a win here and there.

12 Komodo Dragon (2-9) - The dreaded Canton is next.

13 Transylvania (2-9) - Looked like they were going to be on the wrong end of an ass whooping when Uganda jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the 1st quarter but then Trans put up the next 17 points and managed to hold on for the lead.

14 Oklahoma Outlaws (2-9) - Just manhandled. At least they get a gimme next week.

15 Uganda Silverbacks (2-9) - Just not catching any breaks. They had a nice lead after 1 quarter and lost it when they were outscore 3-17 over the next 3 quarters.

16 Port Arthur (0-11) - ...

ELEPHANT
1 Warriors (10-1) - Back to handing out whoopings, at least for 2 more weeks.

2 ICB (9-2) - Coming on strong. A week after taking down the undefeated Warriors, ICB goes out and dominates A7. Now they get an easy 3 week stretch of games.

3 TAP (9-2) - Dominating win will help their chances for home playoff game. Can they keep it up for 4 more weeks?

4 RMT (8-3) - Might have lost but this team has been a pleasant surprise this season.

5 Sons (8-3) - An expected win.

6 BSSI (8-3) - Hard fought win over RMT and still have a brutal stretch coming up after ECS.

7 A7 (8-3) - Going to have to step it up with TAP up next. Still have SoA and BSSI left on schedule too.

8 ABD (7-4) - Have now dropped 3 out of last 4 after such a nice start to the season. Really can't afford to lose too many more games. They may own a tiebreaker over Nairobi but the Warthogs look to be getting better and better as the season goes on.

9 Nairobi (7-4) - Another solid win and this team is creeping up on that 8th seed if anyone slips up.

10 49ers (4-7) - Dominated Boston and might be able to get a 3rd win a row next week. Some might call that a streak.

11 Guyana (4-7) - After a toughie against Nairobi they have to face RMT. Not exactly a great follow-up this season.

12 ECS (3-8) - Couple of more losses to go.

13 Ghana (2-9) - Can't imagine them being in a game until they play Boston.

14 Boston (1-10) - Back to losing.

15 London (1-10) - Finally get their first, and most likely last, win of the season.

16 Norfolk (1-10) - Notch up 3 more losses coming up.

WEEK 14 RANKINGS
LION

The Elite
1 Canton (13-0) - Is this just as boring for Canton?

The Could Have Been Contenders If Canton Were Gone
2 Somalia Pirates (12-1) - One more week before they face off against Philly. That game could decide the 2 seed.

3 Philly Franklins (11-2) - Let Zambezi put on a clinic for 3 quarters. Going to be fighting for the next 3 weeks to keep home playoff advantage.

5 CWE (9-4) - Rough loss to GP and still 2 tough games remaining. This is a dangerous team but a few of their losses this season were definitely surprising.

6 Lincoln (10-3) - Nice streak going but will that come to an end against Philly?

4 San Diego (10-3) - With 3 tough games left this team could very well be playing on the road come playoff time. On a sidenote, love the little AquaBat logo. Very retro.

7 Zambezi Silverbacks (8-5) - Dominated Uganda defensively but 2 turnovers kept this a close game. It took a strong 4th quarter for Zambezi to get the win. Should be able to take the last 3 games and they've got some tiebreaker wins over CWE, GP and Philly to help them in seeding if it comes down to that.

8 Guyana Punch (7-6) - Took down CWE hard before falling to Canton. Shouldn't have much to worry about until week 16. This is going to be a force next season.

Better luck next season
9 Hall of Heroes (3-10) - At best a 5 win season.

10 Nile River Assassins (4-9) - Maybe they beat Komodo in week 16 but that's the best they're doing.

11 Texas Longhorns (4-9) - Again, 5 wins will be their peak.

13 Transylvania (3-10) - 2 more winnable games left.

12 Komodo Dragon (2-11) - Maybe they get one more win.

14 Oklahoma Outlaws (3-10) - No more wins.

15 Uganda Silverbacks (3-10) - One more win left in them this season.

16 Port Arthur (0-13) - ...

ELEPHANT

The Fine Four
1 Warriors (12-1) - The next 2 weeks will decide their fate as the #1 seed.

2 ICB (11-2) - Pretty much the same schedule as Warriors. ICB is chasing them down for that #1 seed.

3 TAP (11-2) - Losses to both the Warriors and ICB are working against them as far as seeding goes. They'll be rooting for Nairobi and RMT the rest of the season (as long as TAP plays their part and wins out).

4 RMT (10-3) - 3 tough teams still on schedule. These last 3 weeks will either propel RMT further up or cost them homefield advantage.

The Muddy Waters
5 Sons (9-4) - A lot of tough football left to play and it would be beneficial if they win the next 2 so they have some tiebreakers.

7 A7 (9-4) - Still have SoA and BSSI to play. That could get them a better first round draw or cost them a playoff spot. These 9-4 teams are going to leave someone out in the cold.

8 ABD (8-5) - Sitting at 8-5 and holding the 8th seed right now. They have a favorable schedule out of all the teams ranked from 4-9 so they could even see their stock improve. They just can't afford a single slip up against teams they should beat.

6 BSSI (9-4) - 3 tough games left leaves nothing guaranteed for what could be one of the road teams in the playoffs. The loss to ABD could cost them in the end if they lose any more games.

9 Nairobi (8-5) - They face the #1 and 2 ranked teams the next 2 weeks. Really need to pull off a huge upset win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Better Luck Next Season
10 49ers (6-7) - On a 4 game win streak and still have an outside shot at a low seed but it's not highly likely unless a few teams slip up.

11 Guyana (5-8) - Facing 3 potential playoff teams so it's likely they don't see another win this season.

12 ECS (3-10) - Might make it to 5 wins this season but that's the best they do.

13 Ghana (2-11) - Good shot at a 2 game win streak coming up.

14 Boston (1-12) - 2 winnable games left at best.

15 London (1-12) - 1 and done is looking like their record.

16 Norfolk (1-12) - ICB won't give them much hope but they do end the season with 2 good matchups for them.

It's been a crazy season...Most of our final scores surprise me this season. Some are disaster (see Ghana), some are much closer than I thought they would be, ans some we win by much larger margins than we should. Only one thing is certain - anything can happen. Makes me nervous about the last 3 games. There don't seem to be any gimmees....OK except for Port Arthur.
