WEEK 8 RANKINGS
LION

1 Canton (7-0) - They've given up 4 fewer points in the last 6 weeks than they gave up in their week 1 game.

2 CWE (6-1) - Prepping themselves for a game against a solid Lincoln squad. Have some good games lined up the next few weeks that will shape their season.

3 Philly Franklins (6-1) - Besides a huge loss to Canton, Philly has been cruising along. Weeks 14-16 will decide their seeding.

4 Somalia Pirates (7-0) - Stepped up big against Lincoln and I'm looking forward to the CWE game in 2 weeks.

5 Lincoln (6-1) - Manhandled may be too kind of a word after that performance against Somalia.

6 San Diego (6-1) - Playing some good ball right now and don't hit a rough stretch until they week 12. They'll have to close the season against Lincoln, Somalia, CWE, Canton and Guyana P. That's enough to wreck a playoff dream if SD slips up from here until then.

7 Zambezi Silverbacks (3-4) - Went as expected against Canton but they have a softer second half schedule so there's still hope here.

8 Guyana Punch (5-2) - Still not in their tough stretch of the season. But in 3 weeks they kick it off and we'll see how much punch they really have.

9 Nile River Assassins (3-4) - 14 points in the last 4 minutes of the game give this lucky squad win number 3 of the season.

10 Hall of Heroes (1-6) - Easily one of the toughest schedules to date. Only one team isn't on a course for the playoffs so far and HoH has played some teams sort of close so they should get some wins down the road.

11 Komodo Dragon (2-5) - Going to be a rough couple of weeks around here.

12 Oklahoma Outlaws (2-5) - Squeezed out a 7 point win over Uganda and about to hit an easier stretch. Could start digging out of their hole the next few weeks.

13 Uganda Silverbacks (0-7) - Has not been a great season around Uganda and I'm shocked at the way it's turned out.

14 Texas Longhorns (0-7) - Hard to see a win coming in the 2 weeks. A few winnable games scattered in after that.

15 Transylvania (0-7) - So close to win #1 until they fell apart in the 4th quarter.

16 Port Arthur (0-7) - ...

ELEPHANT
1 Warriors (7-0) - Had a few close games but they've stayed undefeated up to this point. If they make it through the next 3 weeks undefeated they have a good shot at 16-0.

2 Sons (6-1) - Should coast for a few weeks. Last 5 games will be big for them in seeding terms.

3 TAP (5-2) - Like SoA, their rough stretch will come later in the season so they could see themselves fall as well.

4 ABD (6-1) - I don't realistically expect ABD to stay up here because they still have A7, TAP, SoA and BSSI to contend with. If they can split those though they could very well end up with a favorable first round game that may get them to the second round.

5 ICB (5-2) - Getting it done so far and only have 3, maybe 4, tough games left. This team can play with just about anyone in the conference though (and that goes for most of the top 6 spots).

6 BSSI (5-2) - Back to business as expected. Should rip off at least 5-6 more wins easily from here on out.

7 RMT (6-1) - Still not sold on the Thunder but the next few weeks will show us what they're made of.

8 A7 (6-1) - Get ECS up next before a rough stretch of games. 6 of the last 9 will be against teams fighting for a playoff spot.

9 Nairobi (4-3) - After the loss at ABD it's hard to see Nairobi making it through the next 3 weeks with a win.

10 ECS (3-4) - Next 5 weeks will make or break their season. Odds aren't in their favor.

11 49ers (2-5) - Getting bumped up only because they beat GG already.

12 Guyana (1-6) - Disappointing is the best way to sum up the season so far. There are wins on the horizon but it's too late to hope for any playoff pushes.

13 Ghana (1-6) - Huge loss to BSSI and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.

14 Norfolk (1-6) - Pretty much going down the same course as Ghana.

15 London (0-7) - About to go 0-8.

16 Boston (0-7) - Maybe they'll get their first win...in 3 weeks.

No time for predictions today. Sorry gents.

Look for Zambezi moving up the ranks in the 2nd half. Those HBs just torched us.
