We are having a healthy discussion on our team regarding the % bias in the packages..

We kinda disagree on how it works. Here is the scenario: Say you have a package with 5 plays.

A says)

These should all together be 100%. Meaning they could look like this:
play 1: 20%
play 2: 30%
play 3: 20%
play 4: 15%
play 5: 15%

Play 1 would then have a 20% chance of being chosen. Play 2 30% etc.

B says)
That the percentage is the chance of the play being chosen. If not move on to roll the dice on the next. They don't have to add up to a 100%. Plays could look like this:
play 1: 50%
play 2: 40%
play 3: 60%
play 4: 10%
play 5: 80%
Play 1 would then have 50 percent chance of being chosen. If not move to the next play. This would have 40% of being chosen etc. This mean the first play in the package would have a better chance of being taken than the last, since it would have to 'survive' all the other plays not being chosen..

Which way is the correct one..?

Thanks

Neither exactly. And I challenge anyone to post a single link to detailed info on the full operation of "auto-adjust". There's rumor of the play outputs being shuffled each time so there's no "top of list" advantage.

I figure it must be one of the above..? As for the auto- adjust I think thats a whole other issue that comes after this mistery is solved..

I don't think the run from top to bottom. If that was the case there would be a way to slide them up and down similar to the AIs.

I also do not think they need to add up to 100% total.

'B' is a retard. There's no way to move plays up and down the list.

'A' is mostly right. Plays don't need to add up to 100 total, though. You can have 3 plays at 30, 60, 90 and the 1st play would have a 30/180 chance of firing, 2nd - 60/180, and 3rd play at 90/180. Don't bother with breaking out the calculator when adjusting your play percentages. Fuck math.

The auto adjust effect is unknown.

They don't have to add to 100% but if you have one set to 100% and another to 50% it scales down to 75% and 25% etc...

I generally leave all my plays at 100% for packages. Sometimes I'll raise it to 150% or drop it to 75% or 50%, though.

Blorf HAS commented on exactly this with a detailed response. I don't know where it is, but it's been known for a long time now.

And yes, "B" is definitely a retard.

To clarify, the percentage doesn't really matter. What matters is the percentage in relation to all of your other percentages.

You can set 10 plays each at 3% (which totals 30%), and they will have an equal chance to fire. You can set them all at 100% with the exact same result as setting them to 3%.

All that matters is the % in relation to all of the other %s.

A retard might be a pretty harsh word for someone who has another take on things..

This is actually a very good idea, and an easy way to adjust the packages.. Good info..
