I agree with lowering the numbers and have taken a very similar approach to yourself. Fill as many spots as possible with the right players before finding other options.

I think 14 is a nice number. You have 10 guys playing both ways, a K/P, an offense specialist, a defense specialist and a special teams specialist.

only because I didn't think to double up HBs... but we will still kill you. My KRer will score more than your whole team combined

If you remember (and I'm quite sure Lions does), 15 is the number we wanted to begin with, but had to settle for 20

Then again, we settled for 20 because that was supposed to mean it could be done quickly and where are we now? Still no Iron Man

Filling 14 or so positions with the "right players" means you'll still need backups, and the players will still have to play both ways or your team (especially in peewee) is going to get KILLED by lack of depth.

15 is always the number I wanted, though. It seems most Iron Man-ish

Yes lower the number would be cool. But will the games be even worth it if GLB does nothing to help us in the way the game sims? No matter what our end result is. I think it is damn cool we have as many teams in and was able to buy out 1 whole conference and close to a 2nd.

I disagree on the depth thing. The more people are "out" the more they will recover energy. I would look into having 4 guys out in each phase. Like on my team (if the DC ever stays set) I have players who play in every phase, and others who are limited to 1 or 2. It worked out well in the 1 game we played that the other team didn't spend SPs in yet. Having people play backup will give you extra rest, but it will also mean you need a player who is OoP to backup, which is not optimal. If you want, you can play a 2-way player at a less energy consuming position (QB) to prevent energy loss, but it still leads to you wanting players to completely rest during a drive.

What do you mean? The game sims fine. It's only the roster/league thing that is the issue. I like the idea of keeping the OoP penalty, because that is just another factor to account for.
