Alpha

1. MPHD - Hard to argue so far with their track record. Their defense is stifling and they ran Lincoln off the field. Should be an interesting matchup with the Blaze today.

2. Lincoln - Impressive uplifting victory over Blaze after worthless showing against Machu has to land them here until meetings with HHWC/So Cal.

3. So Cal - Wins over HHWC and Blaze have them here...and possibly even #2.

4. HHWC - Defending champs and impressive running game with Zata running the show. Still looking down the barrel of a .45 down the stretch here...so tough to place them higher...yet.

5. Blaze - Hard to see them as 5th place but not much can be said as of yet. A win today would light a fire under those that jumped off the bandwagon early.

6. Nairobi - They have taken care of who they should have and almost tripped up the Blaze on the way. Should be the stagnant #6 spot to ride out the season.

7/8. Money would have to be on Osaka/ESL in any order...but the race for these spots could be crazy interesting down the stretch...even current 15th place Semarang hangs on a chance yet.

Zeta

1. Indy - I would place them here...but Moose Jaw certainly isn't far behind by any stretch...a slip up against CRR and close game with CAHE makes their placing interesting.

2. Moose Jaw - Losses to Indy and Carthage, but win over Alpine and Machu makes this team look tough.

3. Alpine - Another team to slip against CRR. Really close game with Moose and win over So Cal was key.

4. Odessa - Loss to Krungthep hurts. Have beaten everyone they should have since.

5. Arcade - All losses have come to higher ranked teams.

6. Carthage - Win over Moose is huge.

7. Nashville - Could be an 8 as well with some of their losses...but the win over Brooklyn has to place them here for now.

8. Brooklyn - Should hold down a playoff spot from here on out at the very least.

Is it fair to say that tautology is the best DC in the game? I don't think he ever got enough credit for how much better he was against Valhalla than anyone else.

no offense to taut, but his DPC schemes are pretty boring (most DCs' are). from what I can tell, he isn't tagging much yet this season and is using the same base set of plays for each game.
his dots are amazing, but that doesn't make him the best in the game

Fair point, but I guess the sim rewards vanilla schemes. I seem to get myself in the most trouble by using a million different plays per game.

best marriage of dots and scheme I've seen personally.

If you have dots that will win contested rolls more than they will lose them, you basically need to make sure you don't screw anything up. Part of the reason I'm interested in the MPHD/Blaze game, since I think the Blaze have the offensive talent to win more rolls against the MPHD defense than most teams do. I didn't see any glaring holes when I looked at them and we certainly didn't find any in our game. I think it is going to take some really special offensive dots to make plays against that team.

and I don't think So Cal finishes with a top 3 seed personally. Lots of desperate teams remaining on our schedule.
