Brought strength up to 33 put 15 SPs in, trained, put remaining SPs in till I reach 78..
Currently multitraining him (blocking agility vision confidence)..

nothing is wrong with him. carry on with your plan.

his effective level is only 7/6 because the old guards gained 0.67 per level in str and blk, whilst yours gains 0.5

Suggested changes.....equipment add it.
Never focus everyone you have on 1 skill.

My rule of thumb is skill train something, then dump skill points, while dumping skill points into one skill (do not hold them all to use them at once) train a different skill until you hit 25% on intense. 1 skill point = 12 bonus tokens 3 BTs on light = 4 days for 1 skill point. so if your intense gets to 25% or less switch to a different skill OR to light, to use the BTs for skill points.
