On Oct 5 , 2009 Bort added the change where a defender would cover the HB or FB behind the LOS. I just watched my week 2 sim and my defenders are no longer covering behind the LOS. There are more examples then the ones below...

I've been placing my MLB pretty low behind the NT for a few seasons now.. and he usually runs behind the LOS and covers the HBs really well. Coverage settings are the same in the examples...

Bugs forum the right place for this?

Could you specify what the defensive call for the MLB in question is and exactly what his tactics are?

Needs more info for now

MLB is set HB Strong or WR2 or zone
-80 to -100 man coverage distance- depends on LB- right now they are set to -100

This has been a standard setup and D for me for 3-4 seasons in competitive Pee Wee. I depend on that LB to cross the LOS and take away the HB screen plays and also get tighter on the HB for a pass to the flats.

In the past, if you brought your MLB low and behind the NT, he would do a pretty good job of covering the HB.. and on the weak side, if you place your ROLB just a hair outside of the Left OT, he would stay pretty tight on the HB.. there's always been issues with man coverage distance at an angle.. but it seems to be worse this season. Wondering if Bort inside shoulder change is making the LBs stay even further away... along with not covering behind the LOS?

These are similar. The LOLB is covering the TE m2m, but he just waits there until it is caught:

I didn't run these defenses, but it appears the same thing as mccollums is pointing out. The LB covering the HB just stays way back. It past seasons, he'd run up there and cover him right away and blow up the play.

I don't have enough background to know what's intended here... if the "SS/MLB covering HB behind LOS" on screen plays like this was intentionally modified or what all, I'm inclined to refer this to Catch at this point since nobody else has taken action on it.
