That's the only time it happens for me. Bizarre?

The only time I throw TDs is in 4th quarter comebacks.

The majority of my picks come in the first two possessions as well. I haven't done the math yet but I wouldn't be surprised if adding up the number of INTs he throws in quarters 2,3 and 4 roughly equals the number he throws in the 1st alone.

Just did the math. Over 16 regular season games last season, 1 playoff game and 4 regular season games this season my INTs break down like this:

1st: 10
2nd: 6
3rd: 0
4th: 2

So I was right, my INTs in the first quarter represent over half of my total INTs.

that's odd...does he get his picks following a 4th quarter pick the previous game? Or when his morale is low?

maybe its favor backups in the tactics?

The backup QB has only thrown 15 passes in his 14 career games so I don't think not throwing picks in the 2nd half has more to do with favor backups. Some of it has to do with more running plays being called when you have a large lead in the 2nd half, but I don't think that you can say that alone explains the 16-2 ratio of first half INTs to second half INTs and much less the 10-8 ratio of first quarter picks to the other 3.

As the team's OC I know we aren't using the auto-adjust option so it's not the game changing tactics after the first quarter or two. Until recently my QB confidence was a little low but if anything I would think low confidence would mean he would throw MORE INTs later in games after starting out the first quarter with 2. I believe morale gets reset after every game to your player's current maximum so I don't think it is poor performances in the 4th quarter of the previous game especially when you consider he almost never plays poorly in the 4th quarter. Our team is one of the better ones in our conference so he's almost never had lower than 99-100 morale to start a game with as well.

Some things I think could influence it are:

Morale changes in game. I suspect many defensive backs have low confidence since they need high speed, agility, and vision and moderate jumping, catching, tackling and stamina. That many stats to worry about can leave some areas a little thin.

Stamina decreasing faster in DBs than WRs and QBs. Most corners play tight coverage and it may tire them out more quickly trying to stay glued to someone all game.

AI changes when one team gets a lead. Again, our team has almost never used auto-adjust and I can't know how much our opponents are using it, even if they don't use it either it doesn't mean the AI doesn't make common sense adjustments based on where a team is in the game. A big lead will make an offense call more conservative plays and formations to run out the clock for example.

This is just something I had noticed was odd about my QB for a long time now and was just discussing with our team's DC when I noticed this post. I figured there are probably a few others out there with the issue.
