I hope, for GLB's sake as a long-term viable game, that this includes making the passing game at least partly resemble realism (more drops, more QB inaccuracy over longer distances, etc.). I know you have mentioned this before, but I would just like to strongly second it.

We're pretty hard at work on the passing game right now. Some of the changes we are testing address these issues.

probably should remove all custom slots as well to go along with this imo

I still believe that you could have done two things to address it:

1) Allow programming of the blocking side of a back staying in to block; or harder but effective.

2) Allowing programming of designating blocking (i.e., LG always blocks gap, HB always blocks blitzer, etc.)

But truthfully, I'm tired of exploit blitzes so if 1 or 2 can't be done, fine by me to get rid of DPC. It wasn't fair to have a DPC and not a OPC anyway.

Any thoughts on how to handle the other functionality of the DPC like man coverage options and zones and so forth?

I understand the logic of this statement, but you're going to need to revert a lot of the OL changes you've made to compensate for the coding issues. Chiefly, I'm concerned about blitzing becoming useless, as OL will almost always win the rolls when matched up against linebackers/secondary. The only way to blitz effectively in this game (atm) is to have a guy come completely free. Unless that is fixed, we're going to return to the glory days of 3-man rushes and 8 man zones.

The only way to make it so LBs have a chance at beating O-linemen is to drastically alter the Strength-----------------Speed dichotomy in the game - which is almost entirely due to how Equipment works.

Can we make this game any more canned than it already is...exploits aside (which I know are a bitch to deal with) it is really taking away the uniqueness of the game...

We plan on revamping the blocking logic. It'll be much able to have it work correctly without the moving parts of the DPC.

You mentioned a contest to build this database. I suggest a flat reward per play submitted that makes it into the database. Otherwise, the userbase is essentially developing content for free.

There will be RP's for the plays selected. As well as the username permanently attached to the play.

you don't think that the difficulty and time investment required to coordinate effectively has significantly aided in destroying parity?

even so, my point is not that there are fewer variables for the user to contend with (though that will be true and beneficial), its fewer variables that the admins have to address (or get caught off guard by) when making changes to balance the sim.

So stop spending so much time trying to address blocking logic issues, and keep the DPC. And make defenders less omniscient. Like tragula said, give us some better offensive plays so that overload blitzes are less effective. For god's sake, I/Pro Set/Single Back don't have any screens to the weak side, Weak I's screen doesn't even have any blockers in front of it, 5WR doesn't have any screen passes at all, and there are only 2 WR screens in the whole game.
