Ok, so I have seen the individual power rankings and i like that, but I think we should have a coaches poll type power ranking for the season and see how that works.

SO, here are the rules

1) poll open only to GM's/owners

2) each person in the above category who wishes to, please send me a ranking 1-32 as a message, DON'T repost here, that would defeat the purpose and make the thread incredibly lengthy.

3) I will not share the individual picks with anyone.

4) I will average each teams voters ballots first (in order to eliminate bias), then i will add ranks together from all teams who sent a response to determine final rankings

5) I will only accept a response if it says on your home page that you own or GM for that team (otherwise it wouldn't be much of a coaches poll)

6) I will post the results once i have 50 percent response (teamwise) and will update accordingly


Obviously, the more people who participate, the better this will be. Also, if everyone likes this, I would like to update the power rankings every three weeks (games) or so after we are able to get the first coaches poll out.

Yea thats true. Its a nice concept but thats like 100 GM's so you would need 50 to send you their rankings just for it to work the way you want.

It might be easier if each person just submits a top 20.. and you get reverse points for each vote. a 1st place vote gets you 20 points 2nd gets you 19 pointss... etc...

Tally up the points and come -up with the Coaches Poll top 20.

I'm down for that. Now Top 20 out of the whole league or split them by conference?

top twenty is still outrageous. top 10 is all that is deserving of being ranked for power.

First, for the amount of responses, I considered that.

By 50 percent, I mean 50 percent of the teams with a response, not 50 percent of the owners or GM's, which we should (hopefully) be able to get. I am allowing multiple people from some teams to send in a vote, but to eliminate bias I am first averaging these results before they are counted.

Second, I originally wanted to have every team included, so maybe if teams are a little outclassed they can still build a rivalry with someone close to their level
and feel a little more involved, but I think the strain of ranking all 32 is probably too much to ask.

So I will go with a reverse order ranking system for the top ten. So, please only send the top ten, because those will be the only ones counted.


Finally, I will wait til tomorrow to see the responses to determine if I need to send mass messages, which I will probably have to do :-/

I have some backup plans if it doesn't quit work out, but I want to see how this goes first.

The first one may not be up for a few weeks (games) and it really depends on participation more than anything, but after this first time I am hoping things will run smoother.

awesome, thats 8 teams so far, 4 who have sent rankings in already, sending out messages to the rest of the owners now.

I'll bite...my GM is out of town for the balnce of the week, so he may not partake. Give me some time to do the research, and I'll get my votes in.
