#1: Nairobi Warthogs.. this team is the unanimous #1 selection. It's hard to argue with a team that just missed the playoffs in WL and are apparently taking out their frustrations on everybody in APL now! They average over 730 yards per game on offense and 83 points.. they are flat out ridiculous!!
#2: Fulham Flying Hellfish.. It appears that the Hellfish are no longer under the radar as they received all but 3 second place votes! The Hellfish rack up over 600 yards a game on offense.. but what's really impressive is they've only turned the ball over 8 times so far this season.. can they continue to ride Kentucky Dale to an undefeated regular season?
#3: Sons of Anubis.. The Sons 3 headed rushing attack continues to roll.. but after a narrow escape against The Black Hand.. SoA will have to improve to keep this spot..
#4 Cagliari Outbreak.. The Outbreak is an offensive machine.. when you have 2 HBs that average over 10 yards per carry (Joey Gladstone and Crow T. Robot) and a QB that second in the conference in passing yards.. you'll do some damage! Their 5 point loss to the Hellfish is the only thing keeping them from holding down the #2 slot!
#5 Massawa Redhorns.. now keep in mind since I was busy this weekend that I'm sure this will change after Franchise systematically destroyed the Redhorns... but the voters had spoken prior to that game! The Redhorns have done the unbelievable this season.. they decided to play the first half of the schedule! Sitting at 8-1 the Redhorns horns are in position for a playoff run.. but with games against the Hellfish and Outbreak remaining we'll see where they really stand in the Lion Conference!
#6: The Dead Presidents come in here.. I know they just lost to WWR who isn't on the list yet... but the voters have spoken and apparently TDP has the respect of a lot of agents in APL (funny how things change when you're not the new kid on the block any more). The Dead Presidents still have tough games coming against SoA and The Black Hand but they're definitely going to be in the playoff mix this season!
#7: Franchise comes in here.. and they may be climbing since they have a big match up with the Outbreak around the corner.. Lane West continues to run through and around defenses having racked up 36 rushing TDs already this season!! They might now shut down their opponents but when you rack up 650 yards a game on offense and score 75 points.. who cares!!
#8: Carthaginian War Elephants show up here on the list! CWE does it all when you have an offense that scores 100 points a game you're doing something right.. not to mention they have the second most rushing yards in the conference and have only lost 2 fumbles this season! The other thing that they do well is force turnovers with 67 forced fumbles and 14 interceptions they are one opportunistic and scary group!
#9: The Black Hand come in here even though they have 4 losses the voters all recognized the strength of schedule.. when 3 of your 4 losses are to team sitting at 1-3 it's understandable. The Black Hand has a top notch team and if you check out the scrimmages apparently they're willing to play anybody and everybody! They'll be a force come playoff time..
#10: Windhoek White Rhinos take the final spot in the poll. They still have important games against ICB the Rebels and Nairobi but they've positioned themselves well for the stretch run. With their chemistry only at 86 this team will continue to get more dangerous this season!!
* Ivory Coast Breakers are on the bubble.. a slip by any of these teams and the Breakers will be waiting to take their turn in the top 10!
Thanks everybody that sent in votes sorry about the delay!!
