The picture is starting to clear up on who the contenders are and who the pretenders are. In Lion the top is still a battle, while it looks like the top 8 have a leg up on anybody else making a run for a playoff spot. Over in Elephant, 1 and 2 are locked up but overall there are 11 teams that are still in contention for a playoff spot. Here we go...
1) Nairobi Warthogs- The Hogs sent a nice little message to ABD and Vegas letting them know that they are miles away from being a contender in APL. The biggest question now is will boredom keep them from 16-0.
2) Sons of Anubis - X-Mas came early for the Sons as The Black Hand decided to give one away the other day to keep their record perfect. Stats are for losers and the Sons came out with the win, but I think the message was sent that this is not a two horse race.
3) Fulham Flying Hellfish - The Fish are making a case for themselves as a Top 30 team in GLB, but I seriously think they need to play more friendlies to get noticed...
4) Cagliari Outbreak - A dangerous team who is moving up and really only has The Franchise left on its schedule as a team that can beat them. If they can get that 30th ranked defense to at least 28 they might be on to something.
5) The Dead Presidents - Battle tested in the middle of a nasty stretch of games including the Rhino's, Sons and Black Hand. Come out of those games and pour yourself a scotch.
6) Carthaginian War Elephants - Bounce backed nicely with a victory over those CPU boys who we all know are jacked up on roids....
7) Franchise - Let the Redhorns know that they are not ready for primetime as they look forward to a battle with the Outbreak in a few days. Title still goes through this team...
8) Ivory Coast Breakers - We are going to move this team up in the ranks as they continue to win and are a sure bet for a playoff spot. Nicely done ICB...
9) Massawa Redhorns - Say hello to my little friend, Franchise comes to town and slaps the snot out of the number four team sending a little message to the rest of the Lion that the title comes through them.
10) The Black Hand - We look forward to running off 8 straight to end the season
Sorry but this seat is now taken....Guyana Generalissimo's - On a 3 game skid which is leading the way to a season with no playoffs. It doesn't get easier with the last 7...
