TSAVO (AP) -- The bark of the Anubis offense has been worse than its bite so far this season.

The offensive woes continued for the Hounds (0-3) on Tuesday, as the team dropped its third straight game to start the season in a 6-0 loss to the Tsavo Maneaters (2-1) at Colonel Kurtz Memorial Stadium.

The Maneaters held the Hounds to just 22 yards rushing and forced four turnovers to win their second straight game after a season-opening loss to the undefeated Cairo Emperors.

Anubis was shutout for the first time this season, but it was the second straight game the team failed to find the end zone.

"I'm really pissed," said Atropates, one of the team's GMs. "We are playing under our ability."

Hoping to spark the offense, the Hounds had recently signed quarterback DaQuantre Williams, who marked his debut against Tsavo with 146 yards on 17-of-30 passing.

But a pair of interceptions killed the momentum and left a stain on an otherwise strong debut.

The first interception happened with just about a minute left in the first half, when Tsavo overloaded the line with two blitzing linebackers, springing left defensive end Knuckles McGee -- his blocker, right tackle Max Flatten, for some reason abandoned the block to help pick up the linebacker blitz. Williams fled backward to avoid the massive visage of McGee bearing down on him and flung a desperation pass downfield to wide receiver Chase Matthews, who had beaten his man deep down the sidelines. The ball didn't have enough on it, though, as beaten cornerback Hawkeye Lamson was able to swoop in and scoop it up before it hit the ground.

The second interception happened when a dump-off pass to Calum Davker went in and out of the fullback's hands and right into the arms of suprised Maneaters defensive end Baxter Calhoun.

"This is getting frustrating," said team owner The Hippie05. "At least our defense did good."

The Hounds defense was once again led by linebacker Cornbread Horton, who recorded 12 tackles and forced a fumble. Anubis also stopped Tsavo on key drives before the Maneaters could get into the red zone, forcing kicker Errol Zimmerman to try and miss at three field goals from 40 or more yards.

Anubis comes back home Thursday to face the Liberia Hornhuskers (1-2), which got its first win of the season with a 6-3 win over Babylon on Tuesday.
