Love it or hate it, the season is coming to a finish, with the playoffs at hand. Quite a few teams have a chance at winning. Any given Dotday.

Alpha

Game 1

#1
Astoria Fightin' Titans
Record: 15-1-0

Total Player Count:
51 (Avg Lv 62)
Avg Player Value:
892.74 (Effective Lv 70)

vs

#8
Port Arthur Hodags
Record: 8-8-0
Total Player Count:
40 (Avg Lv 56)
Avg Player Value:
880.84 (Effective Lv 68)

The Titans have been recruiting and have a full roster now for the playoffs. Their chem is almost finished recovering and they come ready to represent. The, for the most part CPU, Hodags have no chance.

Game 2

#4
Yorkshire Rippers
Record: 13-3-0
Total Player Count:
54 (Avg Lv 51)
Avg Player Value:
772.02 (Effective Lv 55)

VS

#5
Monroeville Zombies
Record: 11-4-0
Total Player Count:
45 (Avg Lv 49)
Avg Player Value:
746.52 (Effective Lv 52)

The Rippers have had a solid season to this point, coming into the playoffs wondering if they are contenders or pretenders with the loss to the Pirates. The Zombies come into the game with revenge on their mindless heads after the close regular season game vs Yorkshire. This is very likely the only round one game in Alpha with a possible upset. The Zombies have improved over the season and will put up a fight, but just do not have the staying power to keep up with the Rippers. Close in the first half, Rippers take over in the second. Sorry Zombies, you don't have a prayer.

Game 3

#2
Sons of Liberty
Record: 15-1-0
Total Player Count:
51 (Avg Lv 71)
Avg Player Value:
1001.85 (Effective Lv 74)

vs

#7
Tibetan Drunk Monks
Record: 9-7-0
Total Player Count:
49 (Avg Lv 43)
Avg Player Value:
682.26 (Effective Lv 46)

Both of these teams wobble into the playoffs. One wondering how much is left in the tank, the other wondering how much is left in the keg. The regular season match up, the oldsters handled the monks with a variety of our fathers and hail mary's. This time around may be different. As last game, the monks were able to move the ball pretty well. Have they matured enough to take down SoL? I do not think so. SoL results to trickery, grossing out the hung over monks with old people sex tapes.

Game 4

#3
Wolffsen Pirates
Record: 14-2-0
Total Player Count:
44 (Avg Lv 57)
Avg Player Value:
866.35 (Effective Lv 66)

VS

#6
Norfolk Island Knights
Record: 11-5-0
Total Player Count:
43 (Avg Lv 49)
Avg Player Value:
726.72 (Effective Lv 50)

The PIrates sail into the playoffs proud and confident. They have beaten two of themajor contenders already this season, and the remaining one is getting worse every day. The Knights are happy to be here, and hoping for some payback for the regular season game. The Pirates turned the the Knights into pages during the regular season game, though NIK did show glimmers of offense. Its simply not enough, they have too many holes to plug in the gameplan.

Game 1

#1
Death Star
Record: 16-0-0
Total Player Count:
52 (Avg Lv 59)
Avg Player Value:
942.65 (Effective Lv 73)

vs

#8
Texas Longhorns
Record: 9-7-0
Total Player Count:
47 (Avg Lv 51)
Avg Player Value:
801.39 (Effective Lv 58)

Death continues its league domination heading into the playoffs undefeated. Allowing an impressive 30 points TOTAL to be scored on them all season. Texas has had a bit of a rougher go, losing to all of the top contenders, getting the unenviable slot of facing DS in the first round.

Game 2

#4
Tampa Bay Puganeers
Record: 12-4-0

Total Player Count:
55 (Avg Lv 53)
Avg Player Value:
815.15 (Effective Lv 60)

vs

#5
Gate Keepers of the Night
Record: 12-4-0

Total Player Count:
49 (Avg Lv 59)
Avg Player Value:
885.24 (Effective Lv 69)

Pugs come into the playoffs confident and with no fear. Gate Keepers come in looking to prove themselves. This is going to be a good close game. Both teams needed big plays to score, with the Pugs showing up when the game was on the line. The Gate Keepers pretty much beat them on everything except the score. I do not expect the same thing this game. Pugs fall in the first upset of the playoffs

Game 3

#2
Sugar Sharks
Record: 15-1-0
Total Player Count:

Avg Player Value:
870.85 (Effective Lv 67)

vs

#7
Sun Valley Hell Hounds
Record: 9-7-0
Total Player Count:
55 (Avg Lv 54)
Avg Player Value:
805.28 (Effective Lv 59)

The Sharks have had a great season, only losing to Death Star, and giving them a good game. SVHT has had a rougher season, but looking for the upset in this one. Its all going to come down to TD Davis. Control him and they have a chance. If not, they do not. Sorry hounds, time to go sit,

Game 4

Buenos Aires Barracudas
Record: 13-3-0
Total Player Count:

Avg Player Value:

#6
Shock Collar Gladiators
Record: 11-5-0
Total Player Count:
52 (Avg Lv 67)
Avg Player Value:
944.02 (Effective Lv 73)

Cudas swim into the playoffs in third place. Confident, having only had a few close ones, they are ready to move to the next round. The Gladiators are looking to redeem themselves after the late season loss to the Cudas. The Gladiators major concern, is how much longer can those old players hang on? Sorry, but just not enough gas left in the tank imo.

Really? Whilst I agree that Vortus does a terrific job with League forums your quote maybe a stretch.

Nice work Vortus, and dont believe the hype, it'll only ruin you.

My Zeta picks are
DS v Texas - by at least 100 and counting
Gate Keepers v Tampa Bay Pugs - a close one, but Im thinking the Keepers level it up
Sharks v Hounds - Nice O dem sharks have, and its too much for the Hounds
Barracudas v Shock Collars - Collars are in decline, Barracudas to beat em again.

The above picks were posted after lots and lots of time gathering background info on each team. About 30 secs in total. So you can be sure they will be accurate.

Very nice write Vort!! I wish I had enough to help out more. I try to Post some every now and then to get the Forum more active . I agree with all the Rankings. I also agree the Hell Hounds have to stop TD Davis, The only other top RB with more TD's than Davis is Reggie Bush from the Gate Keepers and he only has 4 more TD's. I've even seen TD run the Wildcat for them so they are creative with getting that Player Maker the Ball. Also loved all the Videos, This might have been a good one for the Death Star Game Video as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGwDwx10wB4&feature=related

You were right Jimmy, we gotcha again. Kinda sucks in on vascation right now and have limited access.... (yeah that's right.... that's my excuse if we lose. )

GL Gatekeepers should be a good battle.

Ok, Gate Keepers have DS next. They kicked my arse back in 38s and did it again this season by a huge amount.

Im thinking of switching off all scout programmes and doing no prep whatsoever. Im hoping for some divine intervention.
