It is the confirmed death of GLB if this is the best they can do.

There is no way i would implement this restructure during this offseason in light of the recent changes to building/training/stadiums...etc. I know that at least amongst the agents I'm involved with there will be a ton of retirements this season.

the more things change the more they change. Anyone who plans for the future hasn't been paying attention. No idea what the future will be. How can you build a team, a player, or do anything else when the rules change every season? It's a cluster pure and simple.

Aside from the morale overhaul and making adjustments to the SIM to make it balanced... the only major changes this game should have left are accelerating the building process and then perfecting the league structure to accommodate for this. Coaches are an unnecessary change and hopefully will be pushed back forever.

Bingo.

It's like in my Fantasy Football league: any decisions we make at the draft are implemented the following season. That way everyone in the league has a chance to adjust to point restructures, roster size changes, IR, etc. We all know going in to the season what to expect, and what to expect in the upcoming season.

The way GLB does it, the changes are discussed all the way through the season, and then implemented the same offseason without the opportunity for builders or owners to know exactly what to expect, or to plan accordingly.

It really is the "hit the moving target" aspect of GLB that I detest the most, season to season. We've had a plan in place for the two teams I'm most heavily involved in since the start of last season, if the discussed changes are implemented this offseason, all our planning is out the window, and we're going to have to scramble to field competitive rosters. If this does happen, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be selling my team off and weaning myself of the game. Not a rage-quit per se, more like a slow, crippling, painful death of any fun or interest I had in this game.

One last point: with all the complaints about competitive league structures, I think one major point is being missed. If the sim's major bugs are corrected, and the morale spirals are addressed, we get more competitive leagues without all the repeated overhauling of the league structure. Balance the sim and the leagues will start to self-correct, and then if restructure is needed, do it.

My $.02.

EDIT: Okay...after the ranting I decided to try and come up with a solution instead of only bitching. How about switching things in the offseason to something like this:

-roster freeze/last boost -------end of season------
-send out a recommended league change (give the owner the option of what league he would like to build his roster towards, including cap leagues)
-free agency/player movement
-league reshuffle, including preferences
-scrimmages

Personally I am screwed for my team if this goes into effect this off season because I had build and signed this the team for the long term and now we have another year of playing in a new cap 54 league that with the exception of 7 players (highest lev 48) we would qualify for a cap 46 league. How is this fair how can you expect teams to make a 12 level jump in capped leagues when people only get a 5.6 levels a season at these levels? If you look at it the teams from the lev 46 cap that failed to make the playoffs this season are going to have a major advantage next season in the cap 54 leagues (if they keep roster intact).

I am just getting tired of this same crap season after season I do not mind change but damn lets set the damn guidelines once and for all so we all know what the hell we are planning towards. We are going into our 17th season and this game is still making major changes every off season. This shit should have been hammered down back before season 10 and only goes to show the incompetence of Bort and his unwillingness to bring in the extra people to make this into the game it can be.

We will be posting the official announcement on this later tonight.

Thank you for your thoughts on the proposed system.
