How do I get the bars on "Pass Defense" up?

Is it the "Coverage" special abilities tree?
or just SPs into jumping, speed, agility, and vision?

I haven't figured it out yet.

I'm pretty sure speed and agility affect the Pass Defense bar (along with other things).

special abilities do not affect the bars at all.

speed first and foremost, then vision, and then agility.

you should be in the mid 50's(aim for 60), have vision at around 40, then agility in mid 30's.

you should see your pass defense pick up a bit. think about it, most WRs at your level have speeds in the 60's+ and some TEs could be faster than your speed now. to be in on a play you have to be at least that fast on the field relatively.

with speed you can cover ground and vision makes up for the lack of agility. you'll get to the ball faster on runs and and deflect more passes because you'll be able to read plays and act on it. once agility is up there, you'll probably see more picks since you can jump routes quicker.

first full season i had speed and vision up there and got a lot of deflections w/ my agility being low. this season i worked on my agility first and i have 2 picks already and a decent amount of deflections.

I wonder if conceptions like this is why everybody seems to be obsessed with speed. We don't see stuff like:

Most HBs at your level have strength in the 50's+ and some TEs could be stronger than your strength now. to be in on a play you have to be at least that strong on the field relatively.

It is obvious that by using SAs and other abilities, a strength deficit can be somewhat compensated for, so why do we think this doesn't happen with speed as well?

The thing I don't get is why you have D linemen who focus on speed so much that they're as fast ast receiver/running backs. When do you ever see that in real life?
