What does the Use Basic Settings refer to in regards to a HB running a route or pass protecting.

I had a HB stay in to block when he was supposed to run a route... he was set to Use Basic Settings in the AI Package... also set to not able to be held in to block by QB.. there was no blitz anyway.. just a 4 man rush. So I'm wondering if the Use Basic Settings called for him to block... but I don't know where that "settings" info would come from.

did you have 'unable to be held in to block' under OAI or just basic settings? If it was just checked in basic tactics, the OAI would override the basic tactic settings when it's turned on. Therefore it would need to be checked under the OAI as well. Only thing I can think of. If you change it to play default though, it will force the HB to run the route that is drawn up.

I think I see now... I had the audibling shut off for the HB to block in the OAI... but I just realized it has settings in the basic settings that controls that pass blocking as well.. it was 85/15 to not blocking.. I guess that 15% kicked in. I haven't checked the basic settings in so long, I didn't even know that was there.

Thanks alot for the response.... I guess I'll specifically set to run routes or pass block for everyone... just to avoid that.
