I will give the same disclaimer as I did last week.

-----------------------------------------

Please be aware that these rankings are unofficial due to lack of games that have been played. As the season continues, the rankings will become more accurate and will give us all a better sense of where everyone ranks. For now, this is the best we're going to get. All ties are in no particular order, they are not alphabetical, biased, or anything like that. They are simply lined up like that because that is how they are shown to me in Excel.

I give credit to Moontayle for these rankings as he gave me the equation to set it up. Here is his disclaimer as well...

My Power Rankings rely heavily on your overall record and what you've done recently. These rankings have been retooled from Season 2 to include a modifier for Margin of Victory that is weighted against the records of the team you played. So while conducting a 20 point win over a team with a winning record will do a lot for your Rankings, conducting an 80 point win against a team at the bottom of the league won't do anything, if at all.

<---Chants "we're not the worst, we're not the worst!"

we've been creamed 3 games in a row. I just can't get any higher level talent to sign and myself and the owner of the team refuse to bring our better players into this league to be "big fish in a small pond".

oh well, we'll build from the ground up and be a force next season.

Good for you, not bringing players in at too high of a level. I applaud that, even if it means a building year. A good GM should be able to keep players around for the long run.

Can we see the exact methodology?

I don't think we deserve to be first just yet.

The actual equation deals a lot with the last 4 games played, which is why these are unofficial. Also, whether the team you are playing is winning or losing depends on how much closer you will be to number one. It is essentially a simulated strength of schedule vs. Win / Loss Ratio and it also deals with margins of victory over teams, but only if they are competitive teams will you really jump up in score.

Also, this isn't really my method to give away, sorry about that.

I'll add to this since I'm the one that handed Todo88 the formula.

There are essentially 3 sections of the formula which add to your overall score.

1. SoS4 - Your recent strength of schedule. This is simply the win % of your last 4 teams added up and then divided by 4 to get an average. I don't use straight SoS at all because everyone plays the same 15 teams and then a random team from the other conference. So your overall SoS is essentially a number around .500 and hence, doesn't mean much since everyone's is almost the same.
2. Wins and Losses - I take into account both overall W/L and W/L over the last 4 games. Losses are weighed more heavily than wins.
3. MoV4- This is measured against the individual opponents over your last 4 games. Each game is measured separately and multiplied against the W% of that specific opponent. Over in EEAA4 I have at team that was ranked highly last year sitting down a few spots right now because they have a zero MoV4 modifier due to all the teams they've played so far being winless. I wanted to add MoV into the formula but wanted to make sure I didn't overly reward teams for blowing out cupcakes. This seems to be working so far.

TLDR version: Playing cupcakes doesn't help you as much as playing good teams and winning. Also, "What have you done for me recently?" is the question you need to answer week in and week out.

Edit: There's math involved in each of the 3 sections so it's not just straight-up on everything. But each of those three things are the base factors.

Todo88, When are you going to start giving game recaps and info on the upcoming game like Moontayle does? I am sure you can find time to slot a couple houors in each day for GLB. Just kidding. Thank you for doing this. I love Moontyles recaps and opnions on the up coming games in the other leagues.

Power rankings are pretty cool, but do you think we could split them up into the two different conferences? Not sure if anyone else agrees, but it'd be a better way to organize it in my opinion.

I agree. The Yetis should be #1. LOL Just kidding.

I love the power rankings integrating the two conferences. It would be interesting to see the formula, but what matters is who wins those last couple of days of the season.

Maybe we will see each other for the league championship??
