ncooke actually asked me this, but I thought it would be interesting to post here.

Win back to back championships in PeeWee Gold?
or
Go undefeated and win a championship in PeeWee Gold?

I think the answer is pretty obvious when you look at the conferences.

How many Super Bowls have been won back to back... quite a few. How many undefeated seasons.. 1
My vote is that undefeated is most difficult.

Back to back championships....

You don't win playoff games because people "don't gameplan" or "run a test AI"...

So I consider even making it two seasons in a row a much more difficult task than going undefeated in the regular season.

when you say undefeated, you mean just for the regular season right?!?

yea i think from an eastern conference perspective it would be to go undefeated, coz that would also break the drought

...but Ima western gunslinger ...so I say ass to assO_o

I'd say go back to back. I guess we'll know tomorrow though since neither has ever happened so whoever loses obviously has the more daunting task

I think it's more impressive BOTH teams making it back the very next season.

It is a good question.. but I think until the sim is stable and out of beta it doesn't mean all that much now. Is anybody really going to care or remember this in 5-6 seasons? I think most people will discount this time period as trial seasons until the sim was more mature.

Season 12 - passing nerf - 98% run based - Defense ridiculously overpowered
Season 13- passing boost - Defense still over powered
Season 14- Defense still over powered
Season 15- Much better overall balance on offense / defense but offense is back because of SAs and overpowered plays.

I'd like to see the morale issue fixed on the Oline so Pee Wee teams that want to run the ball can actually do that.. and the SAs and slants toned down a bit. Passing must stay a viable option though if someone wants to run a pass based offense. The success of the team should be based on AI and Builds... not sim nerfs and/or Bort testing mistakes (Oline morale, kickoffs) Hopefully Bort can get the training/coaching and all these major changes finished soon so he can concentrate on the game play.. that's what will help us in Pee Wee Gold where 1 or 2 plays can make a difference in the outcome of a game.

If you go into suggestions, there is a stickied thread that looks they're doing a COMPLETE overhaul of the physics and bases of the game. Maybe the end of beta is in the making within the next 5-10 seasons.

At least it shows that once they're done adding in all these new features, they're going to work on the core aspects and the sim.

Not to sound like a cop out, but I think the question is like comparing apples to oranges. Both are very difficult and challenging accomplishments.

To go undefeated during the regular season is fraught with the perils of any team boosting on you or temp boosting or <gasp> both, that would cause an errant loss and ruin the undefeated season. To win back to back championships all a team needs to do is qualify for the playoffs, any number of losses isn't relevant. However, once the playoffs start, opponents tend to really crank up the scouting and game planning. To run this gauntlet not once but 2 seasons running, is a formidable task.

Any team that can do either, certainly has my respect. And as LE said, the fact that Tombstone and Short Bus have made it to the championship game 2 seasons running, is an incredible accomplishment.

Good Luck to both teams tomorrow, but I am biased towards SB since I have players that are certified window lickers.

and by good luck, I mean, I sincerely hope Tombstone make 3 or 4 first downs and SB makes 3 or 4 touch downs.

Just to remind people; PING said undefeated AND win a Championship. So the comparison is back to back titles, and undefeated through regular and post season. IMO I agree with Mike as NFL history has shown us it is much more difficult to have a perfect season and championship title than it is to go back to back.

yeah but none of the NFL teams had to come out of the west conference in pee wee Gold.

The patriots would of been like 4-12 over here.
