Warrior General Games

This season will be the last for the Maori in the OPL. During our 5 seasons here we had a nice run:

S11 10-6...Round 1
S12 10-6 ...Conference Game
S13 15-1...Conference Game
S14 10-6...Round 1
S15 10-6...Round 2

Please realize the Maori network is not disbanding - just reorganizing with 1 less pro team. I've been running the club to get into the playoffs and go for the gold every season since S4 - but at the beginning of S15, I decided it was time to take a break.

Just for the record I didn't slack on the tactics this season - it wouldn't have been fair for the players and I'm just too damn competitive to just sit there and take a beating. As most of you guys are aware I've been in constant recruiting mode for over 12 seasons and frankly I need a little bit of a break.

The Maori team will have a new owner: redskinsfan1 http://goallineblitz.com/game/home.pl?user_id=120896 inwhich he will run the club in the minors next season. Red is a terrific agent and a former owner (incidentally won gold with his former club...something he always reminds me about)...so if yer looking for a home for your dots - give him a buzz.

In discussing things with JKF296 http://goallineblitz.com/game/home.pl?user_id=92940 it just made sense for me to adjust my time to focus on the younger farm dots to help navigate through all these bort changes. We believe the agent/players on the Czars http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2040 are deserving to have a competitive product (they've been on auto pilot too long) - so I will put my energy into both the Czars and the Mini's as their co-owner.

During the offseason - JKF296 will change the name to the Czars to the Christchurch Fighting Maori and have his team accept promotion to AA Oceania. This will allow us to continue our continuity of being a traditional Oceania team... I would like everyone that has level 40ish dots to consider perhaps adopting this team as their new home. If yer interested feel free to PM me, JKF296, or Galdo.

Throughout my time here I found the owners in Oceania to be a class act from top to bottom - keep it going guys. I think all of you agents have been terrific in OPL and I do thank all of you in allowing me the honor to have the Maori compete with you guys in the game.

I've enjoyed what time we have played against each other.I sure hate to see another team go this season since the whole face of OPL will be changing shortly.

Your club has been a class act since I have been here and I can sure relate to the break being needed.I had to take one myself but believe I am ready to step back in to the game, at any rate best of luck Jug with the other endeavors(teams).

Sorry to hear but completely understand. We have had a good run of games against Christchurch and those battles will be missed. Be sure to let me or ejfd38 know if there is anything we can do to help out. Good luck and hopefully the Vipers are still here when the Maori get back to the pros.

not just yet Jughead, ill be keeping the team in the OPL (new name though and if i can get enough players in) and still try and play Pro's...i will also try and become active into this forum as well now becoming an owner after calling it quits for owning after Season 8

Sucks to hear, but hopefully the Czars/Maori will end up in AA #3 alpha to compete with my team (assuming we don't get promoted for making the playoffs). It would be a pleasure to still compete against you guys there.

thanks for the compliment, i was tired of the constant bad changes Bort was implementing into the system and got frustrating as hell and quit one season into AA after winning SA A Championship...but things are looking up and figured that since i was around Maori since they were in A or AA ball, i wouldnt wanna just see them disappear.

flip flopping like hell here, but with the late announcement of the team changing ownership, it will be next to impossible to compete in the Pro Leagues, so im actually going down to the minors (sorry about that Jug) because trying to get all these players who want a winning team before retirement wont help me with a blank roster lol so Maori will not be in OPL no more, or for the time being....i wish you all the best and good luck reaching that ultimate goal.
