Let me start off by saying that I can't predict for shit. But since I came to read the predictions and there was none I decided to write one up myself. These are not done using a script, just a wild ass guess for the most part.
Alpha:
--------------------------------------------------------------
Eastern European Alliance 55 - Freedom Town Band of Brothers 20
The first game saw EEA hold a 6-1 turnover advantage. For Freedom Town to have a chance they need to hold on to the ball. Maybe a run first game plan would help? Stop letting the FB's carry it and put it in Sena's hands more. The EEA running game is fabu, Runover Yourface and Aaron McFadden should be featured heavily. EEA is just more talented and I expect them to tighten things up on defense and win comfortably.
Gold Coast Michelin Men 28 - Three Mile Island Meltdowns 24
A minor upset in the making. When four faces five anything can happen. GCMM played 3Mile very close in the first game and were bitten in the ass by interceptions. I was very impressed how each team controlled the others running game. Both defenses played well with all QB's having completion percentages under 47%. GCMM forced four fumbles but could only recover one of them. This should be a good game and will likely go to the coordinators that put in the most work.
Gold Coast Vipers 72 - Stockholm Black Death 28
If you look at the stats from their first match up then Stockholm actually has a chance. But the number of hurries and sacks scares me and if you throw in a few turnovers then the Vipers will run away with this. You have to be able to pass protect in dotball and the Black Death have some issues in that area.
D'Haran Legion 35 - Christchurch Fighting Maori 14
How did Christchurch force this game into overtime in the regular season? D'Haran led in almost every meaningful category (and even a few meaningless ones) but just could not put the Fighting Maori away. I have a feeling that the score will match the scoreline this time around.
Zeta:
---------------------------------------------------
Atlantis Lost Souls 108 - Halifax Black Pearls 3
The Black Pearls were shutout 59-0 in the first go around and now CobraKaji has announced that Halifax won't be back next season. That usually equals bad news, I think ALS is headed to the World League so prepare for a beating in this one.
Island of Misfit Whores 42 - San Sebastian Ibises 17
The Whores 'spread' offense is opening up some eyes. They have erected a stout defense and I don't expect the Ibises to penetrate the triangle very often today. They may take a stab and get lucky with their balls. But I expect those Misfit Whores to do the job and dominate their opponent. The Whores long snapper is epic.
Sumatra Sea Hawks 42 - Berlin Kreuzberg Red Stars 38
Of course I have to predict my team to advance. But Berlin put up 72 points last time on the Sea Hawks and they have never been held under 38 points in any regular season game all year. I am hoping there is still some magic left for the old-timers on Sumatra. Berlin doesn't have the best playoff record so you never know.
Sin City Silent Assassins 28 - Monte Carlo Red Glare 27
This is more of a hopeful score than a prediction. MCRG plucked the Sea Hawks feathers recently and they seem to really be coming into their own. Sin City handled MCRG 47 - 17 earlier in the year. But that was a different team and MCRG is maturing and will be a load next season. Neither team passed the ball all that well, but Sin City's running game did the job. It will be a much closer game this time around.
