I don't want to give away my actual method. But I will say the data came from the information available on the League Team Stats pages. I used 19 calculations covering offense, defense and special teams. Wins and losses were not involved in the calculations.

Hi. How did you calculate this? for example, my team is Italian Stalliions, ranked #13.
We already have beaten the Roskilde Kings (#3), so why are we eight positions lower than they are?

Because these power rankings are garbage. Sorry if I offended you. These a not even close but, I appreciate you giving me another thread to read.

Well i have to say guys we have the best overall rating in the Zeta confrence, the only reason we lost our first game was because, the owner for got to change the CPU take control thing, and the CPU passes way to much, you should be able to tell by our last game if you dont beleive me.

I figured out the actual method you used. You put all the teams in a hat didn't you.

What rating are you referring to?

Can you post that list of ratings here? With all the numbers freaks out here I am sure we would enjoy seeing and analyzing this list which shows you on the top.

Go to your team page, then click on the matchups, it says the overall and everything, our overall is 27 everyone elses is either 24 or 21.

*cough* you're not the only 27 *cough*

you are right the Bergen Op Zoom Sneaky Buffalo and the Rome Poison are also 27's.

I think we had a pretty solid gameplan as well.

But it was a really close game regardless and could have gone either way.

I would definitely have to say that the Sneaky Buffalo have the best team in the conference though. As luck would have it, they are our last home game.

The data set is small - only two games worth, so I expect teams to rise or fall drastically in the next few weeks. It's not a subjective exercise in who beat who.

I take 19 stats and sort them from best to worst. Best team in a category gets 1 point, worst team gets 32 points. Then all the points for each category are combined and ranked as a total ranking score. Take Roskilde Kings for example, they rank very high in categories like yards allowed, points scored, points allowed and turnover ratio. That's why they rank higher than the Italian Stallions.

Last season I tried doing computer rankings based on Win %, strength of schedule and margin of victory. But since everyone plays everyone in the conference, the SoS made the ranking nearly useless by the end of the season.

I don't trust that GLB rating as an accurate description of the teams. It might be a formula based on player stats, but it is not a measure of actual on field performance.
