I have been running mostly 60% Zone underneath and been successful with only 40% Man and blitzing about 75% of the time however i find myself getting passed on a lot more this season with success in a 30 cap league. I can only assume to knock the Blitz% down but unsure how much and should I bump Man coverage underneath more to about 80% and leave Zone at about 60%.... or is Zone coverage just not good at this level?

I am setting up the defense correctly with about how many pass plays are being called(mostly medium) so just wondering if I am running something wrong here with the zone/man coverage underneath %'s and how high the blitz % has been.

Well, if we are talking about the basic AI in the casual leagues I would defer to some old school advice.

I think Seric or Landry Skins said this a long time ago in their old PF.

"If your D Line is outmatched blitz more but never more than 45%. If your CBs are outmatched use more zone."

Keep in mind this was way before veteran abilities. Now that there is a zone coverage SA and I think that Closing speed is for zone coverage you can build players to be better suited for zone defenses.

Man coverages tend to mix in some zones when they go cover 1, 2, 3 or 4. Cover 0 is about the only man coverage without a deep player playing zone. So I tend to go more man defense when using the basic AI.

yes its basic AI, My DL is well built as well as the DB''s. I found a problem lately by giving up gains through the air. I been running mostly run defense. usually parlaying around 70/30 run/pass defense through the %'s. if this is a lvl 33 cap league i am seeing that teams are starting to pass efficiently now. If my DL is built well as well as the DB's should i go more M2M coverage like around 80% and leave 20% to Zone? I was considering going more pass defense around 40/60 run/pass as well since I believe my DL can stop the run.... any thoughts on this?

sounds like a good plan to me but I really do not follow the casual leagues.
