If AA and AAA leagues are uncapped, then what will happen when all the pro leagues fill up with max rosters, and there are still level 60+ or even level 70+ players unsigned?

Now fast forward to the Pro leagues under the new system. There is no question that WL, and the Elite Pro leagues will be high competition. The competitive Pro leagues will also be mostly competitive with maybe a handful of bad games. However, the normal Pro leagues are very likely to look just like the normal Minor leagues.

Now, let's talk promotion. Would a team that wins Elite cap 64 go straight to Elite Pros? Would they go to Competitive Pros? or would they start at the bottom?

If they go straight to Elite, then what about the Pro teams that started at the bottom and are trying to work their way up? Is that fair that this Elite 64 team bypassed them? Would a team that just hit plateau and has not had the benefit of their last boosts be better than a team midway thru plateau that just had the misfortune of starting at the bottom of Pro and working their way up?

However, if that cap 64 team had to start at the bottom of Pro, then in the end, I would bet money that we are just trading crappy AA/AAA leagues for crappy Normal Pro leagues. The minors work well for the top half but they still suck competitively for the bottom half, so I see no reason to think that pattern would change using the same model all the way up.

Yup. Which is why this league structure only creates more problems.

If we stay with leagues, we need divisions within the conferences. If we go away from leagues....

- Non playoff teams from AA go to A, playoff teams from A go to AA
- Non playoff teams in A stay in A
- Leagues are sized to next closest 32, with any spillover in A filled by CPUs that could be bought. Spillover for AAA or AA would be filled by the next best available teams from A or AA.
- Leagues are all sorted by rivalry points to keep teams together as much as possible throughout their lives.

Lv 54 teams:
- Lv 54 playoff teams from any tier go to AA.
- Lv 54 non-playoff teams from elite go to AA.
- Lv 54 non-playoff teams from competitive or normal go to A.
- Bottom 2 teams stay in 54 as usual, unless over 54, in which case they go to A.

Lv 46 teams:
- Lv 46 teams with players over lv 54 will always go to A
- Lv 46 elite playoff teams go to A.
- Lv 46 competitive playoff teams go to 54 elite
- Lv 46 normal playoff teams go to 54 competitive
- Non playoff teams move as normal to lv 54 or 46.
- Bottom 2 teams stay in 46 as usual, unless over lv 46 players on roster

Lv 42 teams:
- Now go to 54 when going up 2 tiers
- Three tier jump can be requested to go to A if a conference champ.


This is the re-structuring idea we are going with right now. Please feel free to poke holes in it before we make it official.

It isn't a complete overhaul, but it will help parity/competition in the leagues.

I will be blunt and ask a question specific to my own team. Will a team in the top 4 or 5 of their conference in a current AAA league remain in AAA when this is implemented? In other words, what is the criteria for filling out the AAA/AA/A leagues the first season it is implemented?

Lest I seem rude. Thank you very much for posting the plan and promotion details this quickly. It definitely will help my team and I am sure many other teams know how to proceed with recruiting.
