Hell no! I had to take a few courses during my engineering studies in college, but I was always more of a hardware guy. I can code in assembly, but everything is easier at the register level because you don't have all the bloody syntax and rules.

Somebody hasn't bothered to create hardware compatible with USB's, HDMI, Firewire, or any of that other crazy ass hardware hacked up crappola ... or probably wasn't given a homework assignment to override the meaning of registers 0 and 1 on your average x86 based system. Worked on the newer nvidia video card designs. You must be crazier then a cork screw to think that hardware is easier then software. Give me code any day of the week to that hardware stuff. I swear those hardware geeks like to re-invent the rules every few months these days. Oh how I miss the days when hardware was an engineering product
