Making a new thread where we can discuss the games.

First round is over with some interesting games

Alpha:

We completly massacred Limerick in a game that shocked the most loyal Bow Street fan.
We expected a tight game like last season, but obviously Limerick become much much worse since then.

Clydesdale not surprisingly beat the cpu team Dublin.
most likely their only victory this season.

IKK FU had no problems against Port St Lucie, while the other big favourite Frankfurt, never really was threatened by Spaniards.

Glasgow stood for the first surprise as they in the 4th quarter went from 3-20 to 23-20, before Belfast saved themself with a FG in 24 seconds!
In OT Belfast again screwed up allowing Glasgow to be close enough to set a FG.

Lyon had huge problems with Reykjavik taking them to OT where both teams had big problems getting anywhere until Lyon finally managed to get into FG range.
Obviously Lyon gotten weaker and Reykjavik stronger, and it will be interesting to see how they do against the other top teams now.

Sweden met Belgrade where both team went hard out the first quarter, before getting to tired to do almost anything the rest of the game.
Sweden won as expected.

Marseille almost screwed up against Cork City in a defense heavy game winning barely with 7-6!
If this continues they are sure to lose the playoffs when they meet better teams.

Zeta:

Vatican met new team Reading and not surprisingly crused them.

Buffalo had just an easy opponent in Leeds and also managed a big win.

Abit more surprisingly Munich who is also one of the weakest teams, tired out P-Ville taking a convincingly victory.
P-Ville are now in big danger of relegation as they would need to beat better teams.

Big favourites London had no problems against Drunken, adding further to the belief they'll take the championship.

Kilkenny had a close game with Vikings, but managed to kill(kenny) it in the last quarter.
They got a shot at the playoffs but it will be hard.

Berlin controlled the game against Shamrocks and inevitable won with a good margin.

Fighting Irish had a hard game against Tranmere, but took an early lead which they never let go.

Lastly Rome met BC in a nervewrecking game.
Rome has really gotten better this season as last year playoff team BC had serious problems against Rome's defense.
Rome stood against their offense, and it paid off when BC had to punt from their own redzone, which made it close enough for Rome to score this game only TD.

Next round:

Alpha:
Bow Street - Lyon (Top game in the alpha conference)
IKK FU - Cork City (Another win for IKK FU)
Frankfurt - Reykjavik (Can Reykjavik do as good as they did against Lyon?)
Clydesdale - Sweden (Sweden should get their second win)
Glasgow - Port St Lucie (Easy game for Glasgow)
Marseille - Spaniards (A weak Marseille against victory hungry Spaniards, will be close game)
Belfast - Dublin (Belfast wins)
Belgrade - Limerick (We will get to see how weak Limerick really is)

Zeta:
Vatican - Kilkenny (Kilkenny stand no chance)
Buffalo - Reading (Training game for Buffalo)
Munich - Tranmere (Tranmere should take their first victory)
London - Rome (Even though Rome gotten better, London is still the best)
Berlin - P-Ville (Easy game for Berlin)
Fighting Irish - Drunken (Top game of Zeta, I'm sure Fighting Irish just ache to get back for their playoff loss)
Shamrocks - Vikings (Important game for both teams if they even want to be in the playoff fight)
BC - Leeds (BC will be back from their dissapointment this week with a win here)

I think Cork City is going to surprise IKK FU tomorrow. You think Marseille almost screwed up, but I think it's reversed. I think they got lucky and won that, especially with us that close at the end.

Have a nice looking team, definitely... but I can't help but notice the lack of depth you guys have. I think that's where we'll win it, in the 4th quarter when your starters are tiring.

We shall see though, like I said, you guys do have a really good looking starting lineup. I think it'll be a bit of an arm-wrestle.

LionsLover : our game against you in week 1 was close, but when my kicker misses 4 Field goals out of...4, well, I don't see where is the "luck" you're talking about.

Marseille offense is not clicking as much as I'd wish it would, but our defense is still one of the best in the conference. I don't feel that good right now, but maybe we'll find the key soon.

Round 2 results:

Alpha:
Bow Street is still leading alpha as our defense completly killed Lyon.
It might seem like Lyon will have a hard time getting into top 4 this season.

Frankfurt holds second after massacring Reykjavik and is really setting themself up as a hot contender for this years championship.

Sweden won as expected over Clydesdale and for now holds 3rd, but will fall down when they start meeting harder opposition. Abit laughable Clydesdale is still holding a playoff spot at 8th

Cork City gave favourites IKK FU a hard time, forcing them to make FG and only give up 1 TD.
Still as they couldn't do much self, it was inevitable that IKK FU won, however it was far from convincing.

Glasgow had full control over Port St Lucie, even though they got tired and started having problems scoring in the second half.
But with this win they are following the top at a 5th place.

As i predicted, the game between Marseille and Spaniards got real close.
Spaniards started best, but then Marseille's defense took over gaining important turnovers giving Marseille the advantage.
At the start of the 4th quarter it looked like Marseille had the victory in their pocket when Spaniards struck back.
However they used to much time and Marseille could just let the time run out for another close victory.
Marseille is the last one on the top now at 6th, while Spaniards certainly will come back from their 11th place as they so far met two of the top teams.

Belfast had an easy game against new team Larryville and jumped up to 7th.

Finally Limerick came back from the humiliation last game, with an easy win against Belgrade. Still it only gave them a 10th place for now.

Zeta:

Buffalo massacred new team Reading and is leading Zeta divison

Berlin massacred P-Ville who really is looking like they'll go for relegation this season. This puts Berlin at 2nd for now.

Todays first shock came from Kilkenny whos defense held the Vatican away from their own half almost the entire first half!
Except for a lucky TD, Vatican managed nothing and shockingly stood no chance against Kilkenny.
Seems like they only had it in their mouth after all and are now outside the playoffs, while Kilkenny holds 3rd.

The topgame between London and Rome became very close and exciting to the very end.
Both sides clearly wanted a victory here and it switched alot before Rome managed to gain a lead with a TD and a FG.
London struck back with a FG of their own, then got cut off by the half-time whistle before they regained the ball and scored a TD tieing the game.
Rome struck immedeatly back with an FG again taking the lead, and then a nervewrecking 4th quarter started.
Both teams defense did their best stopping the other, and it wasn't until 2 minutes left the game exploded. Rome got a FG, but London struck back with some long passes scoring a tD in 35 seconds.
But Rome didn't give up and in another 40 seconds scored yet a FG.
London had their final drive but got stopped by Romes defense giving them a shocking victory and a 4th place. London still holds a playoff spot at 6th.

Tranmere had no problems against Munich and holds 5th.

Fighting Irish and Drunken also had a close game as whos lead the game shifted often.
In the end Drunken took the victory by 2 points, but Fighting Irish is still higher up on the standings with a 7th against Drunken's 8th.

Shamrocks had the upper hand against Vikings and took an important victory.
Still it only put them at 11th, but they do got a decent shot at the playoffs.

BC defeated Leeds but is so far the worst of the winning teams holding only a 12th and is looking like they might lose the playoffs this season.

Round 3

Alpha:
Bow Street - Belgrade (Top team against a new team, it speaks for itself)
Frankfurt - Lyon (Frankfurt is way to strong this season)
Sweden - Belfast (Sweden has so far had easy opponents, so now we get to see what they really got)
IKK FU - Spaniards (Spaniards is really unlucky with who they meet so far. IKK FU favourites, but shouldn't count out Spaniards)
Glasgow - Cork City (Seems like a close game, though my money is on Glasgow)
Marseille - Reykjavik (Marseille had huge problems so far and will probably play another close game)
Clydesdale - Limerick (Limerick takes this one easy)
Port St Lucie - Larryville (Easy game for Port St Lucie)

Zeta:
Buffalo - Kilkenny (Top game which will be a very close game most likely.)
Berlin - Vikings (Berlin takes this easy)
Rome - Fighting Irish (Rome has impressed so much this season i can't see how the Fighting Irish is gonna take this one)
Tranmere - P-Ville (Another easy game for Tranmere)
London - Leeeds (This one London will win atleast)
Drunken - Munich (No problem for Drunken)
Vatican - Shamrock (the Vatican might be weak this season, but i doubt they mess this one up)
BC - Reading (BC takes an easy win)

I am loving this thread. But I would really like to keep Rome as the Underdog. We are playing for our lives right now beating two teams that on paper shoulda handled us. The next verse is the same as the first two. Great team, and nothing would make me happier than making your Rome prediction right for the first time this year! This league is great, and I look forward to seeing everyone successful season after season.

Well, maybe The Vatican can stink. They do have their own country inside our city, like a baby in the womb one could say!

Good luck AA4.

Go Gladiators

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!

Just be Glad you wont be facing us this season. Weak? We will kick your ass if your team is lucky enough to meet us in the playoffs, due to an unlikely miracle of you avoiding relegation.

Id like to think our first game against Glasgow was a blip. Truthfully, we messed up on the defensive energy settings....our 3 starting DEs played nearly 150 snaps while our backup got 30....how stupid are we
Belfast had that game won going into the 4th quarter and then we fell apart. Congrats to Glasgow but I think that was our mistake rather than them being a better team.

The Sweden game will show whether my thinking is correct. They have reasonable starters but on D (like a lot of our teams), their backups aren't great.

It really is going to be an interesting season...been very shocked by Bow Street Runners start. Awesome! Have a tough stretch from Game 6-9 though...that could make or break their season.

Come on Commandos.
