i just wanted to add a different perspective to this conversation.
how much should one boost at the beginning of the season? most teams boosted right away last year, while Renosa waited until the playoffs. That resulted in making it to the championship.
This year a lot of guys are holding off (about 5 guys used all 3 boosts on my team so far). When the playoffs roll around, teams will be so incredibly different.

Truth is - it is better to wait - but if you do wait and lose to teams that do boost - how the heck are you going to make the playoffs? I guess those teams would have to boost for the scrimmages.....
In the end - I think it is just a personal decision. I still have some boosts remaining on some players - and others have used all three.

stewart is a good team. Win or Lose Hellas will be fine and will be fighting it out in the playoffs.

Ballers are now 0-3 against the Hoplites? 0-4 If you wanna including the SS we both went after

glad I saved my boost. We didn't need to use them.
Think I will need them this week though....

That definately was a BIG win for the Hellas Hoplites, it really should not have been that close but we made some errors in the end that made it seem like a closer game then it really was.

Oh, lol I don't count season 1. We bought the team towards the end of it and were "building".

There is a theory that all you have to do to make the playoffs is finish top 8 or whatever, so it doesn't take a whole lot of effort for a good team to do that. That's why some teams wait until the playoffs. Levelling gets slower as you get higher, so the idea is you do the hard yakka early and use the freebies on the slowest levels you'll hit during the season. It's more efficient that way.
That all said, we boosted fairly early and didn't wait for the playoffs. Starting late season 1 and going 0-8 meant we had to turn that round in hurry to be competitive.
We still sucked for the first half of the season, so had to get other things right. Also, just because someone is a higher level, doesn't necessarily mean their build is any better. It's most important to get your builds right, and match your tactics to the players you have.
