I'm wondering if it is possible to hold off on selecting the bonus SA or whether you have to select it at the time that you create the player.

Essentially, if I'm creating a character with the new system this offseason I don't want to select the bonus SA at that point because there is a good chance that at the point I want to invest SP into SAs there will be new SA options that I might prefer.

Flame away if I'm missing something.

you have to select it when you create the player. You don't have to put any points into it.

I think he's meaning that if he picks an extra SA now, and 2-3 seasons down the road we introduce NEW SA's, he'll be screwed if he wants one of them because he's already chosen his SA.

Perhaps, if that's the case, we'd be able to "swap" abilities, for a price. (Edit: In game price, not actual monetary price. Something like SP, or BT's)

Such is life. Everything in the world comes with some sort of price. If you want it bad enough, you'll "pay the price" for it.

You know, GLB is free to play. If you don't want to get the advantage by boosting, or the extra in game experience by buying a team, you don't have to. There is no sign up fee.

The extras, boosting, buying a team, creating extra players, has become the common theme. So, in order to compete at the highest levels you need to invest some money. Is the game forcing you? No, that's just the price you pay for attempting to get to the top.

If you don't want to buy flex, you don't have to. Is your in game experience less "eventful"? Yes, but that's the way it should be. This is a business, not a charity. The money for developments has to come from somewhere, doesn't it? Unless you want ads strewn all over the place, I think it's a simple concept.

Then don't. I'm not sure what the issue is. I enjoy the game, even with it's flaws. I enjoy testing things, trying to find the next advantage. Do I get frustrated some times, yep, but it's my choice as to whether or not I want to pay for this thing. That, and I doubt we're "lining GLB's pockets". Is Bort doing well, financially? I'm assuming so, but a lot of this money goes into the server costs, and overall upkeep up the site.

Well lets just agree to disagree. Ill keep my $$ til beta is removed and there is an official final product WITHOUT sweeping changes. And you spend your $$ to test. Its ALL good. to each their own

Not trying to be an ultimate dotball player. I just enjoy testing out builds, game planning and the strategy that comes with mapping out a Level 72 career. I've been playing for nearly two years, and I've enjoyed it the entire time.
