You still gain training tokens when you are not on a team (up to 14 = 7 days being a free agent) . The point of not being able to train should push agents into selecting a contract to accept rather than holding out and remaining a free agent. Honestly, it shouldn't take more than 2-3 days to select a contract to accept.

What happens to players that can't find a team to sign with cuz they are stuck in between caps?

This seems to hurt the people who cant find teams (due to between caps, or creating in the middle of the season) a lot more than it hurts people who arnt accepting a contract.

If there's no other change than the one in the announcement, then this essentially forces players on end day 40 contracts to accept new contracts by day 46-47 of the off-season if they wish to avoid losing TPs.

I thought that it didn't come into play during the Off-season. Could be wrong though.

If it doesn't come into play in the off-season, what's the point of the change?

Seriously, there are lots and lots of players who can't find teams. Something should be done to help people stuck like this - Not insult them further.

Like a D-league system for higher levelled dots, maybe.

I've had players that have not gotten contracts, and the only thing that saved them the next season is the fact that I could still train them for the next season....Under the new system, if I don't get a contract, then I may as well retire the player because he will never get a chance to train, and he will not get a contract the next season because he will be exactly the same as before...etc....

The new training system sucks! Players train even if they don't have a team. How else are they supposed to get onto a new team???

I agree with this to a certain extent. I also had the crappy experience this past season of having my DC flake out and go AWOL without having signed an entire defense. I then spent the rest of the season sending out contracts to FA's who sat around for a week or more, while they had a fair, offer with a tidy signing bonus at their disposal, so there are always going to be teams looking for players midseason, as long as you are not level 14 with 20 points into your SA's, or equipment boosting 5 or so of your stats at one time.

I like the change. However I think that it should only apply during the season, not the off-season. If everything ran perfectly during the off-season where all the teams were handed out by day 41 or 43 then this would make sense. But plenty of teams don't even have an owner a couple days before the season starts. It does punish people who like to take a few days off during the off-season.

Everyone is complaining that roster sizes need to be reduced to 40 or less because there aren't enough players, now you get people complaining about how they can't find a team?

Sign with a crappy team for a season and keep looking for a better one next season.
