Plateau should be longer (3 seasons) then the drop off should be -much- sharper.

+1 (even just 2 seasons would help or at least be a fair compromise to start)

A dot can play at the Pro or WL level from his 8th-13th season if he's well built. That's 6 seasons. Sure, only his 11th season is the official "Plateau", but htere's a much longer "effective plateau".

And I suspect that the drop-off betwen day 520 and day 560 is *quite* sharp...

As it is the decline is too steep. When a player his his peak (day 440) its only 1 season later that teams wont sign him cos his decline is too far in. Thats a rediculous time where your player is at his peak.

The plateau needs to be earlier, and longer, with a longer decline. Say peak at S7, plateau for 3 seasons, and decline over 2ish.

Would give the teams at the top a better chance of replacing rosters slowly, rather than having to lose huge chunks of it in one go every season.

With that early of a plateau, you'll never see a rounded out build. Plus, earlier plateau = less money for bort.

I would be ok with a longer plateau and a real sharp decline

My Own Recommendation is to increase the rate of SP's received so that you would reach max level by about Season 8. And then plateau through season 11 when decline starts.

This means builds mature faster and play at their peak longer.

Don't allow dot's to drop back down to AA or AAA. Restrict dots over 440 days to pro or WL only.

I dont see Emmit smith, jerry rice, or Bret farve trying to rip it up in the Arena legue, Canada, or back in college.

It happens a little bit in basketball where the European market can pay enough
Tom Chambers in Maccabi Tel Aviv 1995-96
Dominique Wilkins in Panathinaikos 1996

But I betcha they would IF those teams could offer them up a large enough salary.

Another example:
Joe Montana moving to KC. At that era it was almost like moving from pro to AAA.
