Yes folks.. it's about that time... for some it's time to rise to the occasion.. for others it will be time to head out on vacation!
WWR VS. Rwanda Headhunters:
It's playoff time that's good news for all involved.. the bad news is that this will be a short lived celebration for some teams.. i.e. Rwanda Headhunters.. Sorry Rwanda but the Rhinos are "head" and shoulders about you in level of play this season.. you're only quality win was against the Jackals and that's when they looked to be one of the worst teams in your conference (no offense Jackals you know that you looked like crap the first 7 games).. Rhinos will run right into the second round.. 68-10
Swaziland Semnikati VS. Carthaginian War Elephants:
Well then.. now this one looks like a battle! The War Elephants have had an outstanding first season in APL.. and are looking to extend it a little longer.. bad news is I think the Storm came in last week and gave Swaziland I wake up call.. I'll take the vets in this one but not by much.. 24-21
D9 Prawns VS. Johannesburg Jackals:
... and in this corner we have D9.. they've been talking all season about being the second best team in Lion (well they claim to be the best but we all saw that game against WWR).. they've been walking the walk.. they've been talking the talk..
... and in this corner we have JJ.. they apparently are late bloomers.. but have been making a lot of noise as of late! coming in winners of 8 of their last 9.. they used to be the self proclaimed "best team of Season 5".. lets get ready to ruuuummmbbbllleeee!!
PP has been playing a little game of cat and mouse.. talking about I really don't want JJ in the first round.. well you always get what you ask for and the Jackals come in hungry... it's time to show the Shrimpies what they've got coming and Jackals brought a whole boat load of cocktail sauce (with extra horseradish because they like the burn).. JJ in the upset 28-20
Sahara Storm VS. African Fever:
The Saharah Storm get the rookie of the year title! Now they'd like to add another title to this season.. first step is a match up with the African Fever .. the Fever are my Rodney Dangerfield of the Lion Conference.. they don't get much respect.. but with losses this season to the Storm, D9, WWR and CWE.. you're going to have to earn it! I'll still take the Storm 38-28
========================================================================
Elephant Conference:
Carthage Clash VS. Kickin Djibouti:
I'd like to say that this is the best match up in the conference.. but they really all are.. the Clash are rolling and there is no questioning their confidence.. but Kickin is a tough draw for them in the first round.. the coordinators are busy comparing Johnsons in the forum and hopefully game planning at the same time.. this one really is a coin flip.. but I the Clash are about to get Kicked out of the playoffs.. 33-30
Sons of Anubis VS. The African Predators:
yet another great match up here.. first game was a tight one... but I have a feeling this one won't be nearly as close.. the Predators picked off QB Mason Betha 3 times that game and still came up short.. I think the Sons protect the ball like it was a new born baby.. and the Predators get the early parting gift.. SoA 35-20
Nairobi Warthogs VS. Swaziland Dachshunds:
yet another.. big battle in the first round! The Dachshunds come in with a great defense .. and it will be tested.. the Warthogs can score and they really like to score a lot! The question is will the Dachshunds be able to score enough.. I just don't see it happening Warthogs advance.. 35-24
Pirgos Warlords VS. GRiTS:
The Warlords get the top rookie nod in the Elephant Conference.. and their reward.. a really angry GRiTS team.. but this is a team that's sliding.. will it continue.. I'll take a chance pick the vets to recover and win a tight one .. 28-27
