Wow! After last week's epic match up I figured this weeks game might be a let down. It was anything but that. More like a shootout at the OK Corral. Or for our younger audience, it was like on Lost, when Jack was shooting it out with the Dharma dudes and despite having little or no training with a handgun could suddenly shoot people on the move while not looking and nail them while not getting hit. Ya, it was like that. Oh and Lincoln is the smoke monster (or maybe Valhalla is?). All I really know for sure is Sumatra is Arst, the guy who showed up in one episode and was blown to bits).

Let's take a look at the action:

Chicago got the ball first and moved right down the field and scored. Darrell Williams to Mike Evil for 32-yards was the big play:

Lincoln weren't 13-0 coming into the game for nothing. They answer the call and quickly tie up the game. Buster Crouch to America Fuk Ya for 16 got them going:

Chicago started driving again right away. This 21-yard pass from Williams to Meican Dave (great name) moved them into Navigator territory:

The favorites are on their heels a bit, they likely did not think that Chicago would give them this much trouble. Mike The Butkus Urlacher deflects this 3rd down pass forcing Lincoln to punt it back to Chicago:

Lincoln's defense is up to the task and Mike Philthy McNasty O'Shea picks off this Williams pass and ties the game when he returns it for a TD:

Chicago takes over and drives just past midfield. But on 3rd and 10 at the Navigators 46 Williams looks for Mexican Dave and Troy DeCleater picks it off stopping their drive:

If Chicago has a chance it is going to be on the arm of Dave Williams. Despite the picks he is their best chance. He drives the team right down the field and they re-take the lead on this 7-yard pass from Williams to Hines Headly:

Then Johnny Biggs forces a fumble on the kickoff return by Arenas5. Nuh Uh recovers it and Chicago are in business (this would be like opening the hatch in Lost):

Lincoln goes three and out again when Jarlaxe knocks loose and deflects this Crouch pass:

Williams hits one pass on the next drive and throws four incompletions. The one hit was this pass for 35-yards though so Chicago makes it a 14-point lead on the FG:

With time running out in the half the last thing the Navigators want is to go into the locker room trailing by 14. They drive down the field and cut the lead to a single TD on this 24-yard TD pass from Crouch to Jason Nosaj:

Chicago 31 - Lincoln 24

There is less than a minute left. It has been a wildly successful half for the under dogs. But they do not rest on their laurels. Williams to Ketchum for 36-yards sees them past midfield:

Then Williams to Evil for 30-yards has them inside the 15:

Oh man, if they could find the end zone it would negate that last TD by the Navs. But it is not to be. Williams drops back and looks for Ike Atchit near the goal line. But the pass is picked off and return 54-yards giving Lincoln good field position:

Lincoln gets it deep into Chicago territory but with time running out they kick a FG to make what was (or could have been) a 14-point lead into merely a 4-point deficit:

So despite having the lead over the undefeated #1 seed in Alpha the Hedgehogs have to be feeling they let them off the hook a bit. Then things get even worse when Lincoln get the ball first in the second half and take it right down the field for a TD on this 13-yard pass from Crouch to America:

Lincoln 34 - Chicago 31

So from a 14-point lead to trailing by three. Chicago really needs a score to get some momentum back. But after driving close to midfield, Gash Fillmore deflects this pass forcing Chicago to punt:

Just when things look bleak, they turn-around momentarily when Dark Defender picks off this Crouch pass to give the Hedgehogs the ball in a great spot:

Then we see some funky AI-ness. Trailing by 3 and facing a 4th and 3 the Hogs eschew the field goal attempt and try to run and pickup the first down, it fails as Adam Obelix is stuffed for no-gain:

Then it gets worse as Buster Crouch makes up for his pick by throwing a 79-yard TD to Jason Nosaj:

Chicago probably thought they had to gamble to have any shot to win this game so you can't blame them. But would those three points thrown away prove costly? The Hedgehogs are off their game and have to punt after this deflection from Emlen Lott:

Lincoln takes over but then disaster strikes. Crouch just isn't feeling that well and when he tries to squeeze it in to TaSean Richards the throw is off. Dark Defender grabs it and returns it 34-yards for the TD. Hedgehogs go back in front:

We are into the 4th now, Lincoln thought they were taking control of the game but now they are trailing. But they easily drive the field (not having to convert a single 3rd down) and go back in front on this 5-yard TD run by Taiwan's Finest:

Then it is Chicago's turn in this back and forth battle. They are undeterred and now believe they can win. They drive the field, converting two 3rd and short yardages. The second one being this 3rd and G TD run by Steven The Ram Jackson:

With 8 minutes left in the game Lincoln is looking to go back in front. But on 3rd and 10 Felonious Jones sacks Buster Crouch and forces the home team to punt:

With 2:16 left, Chicago needs to control the ball, run the clock and make Lincoln use all of its timeouts. It almost works. This 21-yard pass on 3rd and 8 has the Hedgehogs looking good:

With 1:50 left, Steven Jackson picks up 6 on 2nd and 12, at this point all of Lincoln's timeouts are gone:

That play took 49 seconds, facing 3rd and 6 with 1:01 left a knee could have taken off 40-50 seconds leaving it very tough for Lincoln to drive the field after a punt for a touchback. But instead it is a pass, and worse yet it is incomplete:

Then it is three straight incompletions making in 4th and 10 from their own 48.5. Just one more play for Chicago to pull off a mini-miracle.

Crouch drops back looking for America, Aly Sheba (the FS) bites hard on a pump fake and America goes right by him. After that it is all speed and it is a 51.5 yard game-winning TD by the Navigators and Hedgehog fans are sick to their stomach:

alot of the sim logic seems to go out the window though on interception returns. could be the governor gets taken off wr's.

Meh, still goes slower than his max. Tbh Headly maxes around 40 (though obviously not in this play).

He looks faster small because it's relative to his size. The opposite of the Vince Young effect imo.

the OT game is 2 bad teams though. this is an undefeated team vs a really hot team.

itt: 1-3 in your last 4 games = really hot.

its not about record, its about how they're playing.

starting 1-4 = not good.

giving an undefeated team a hell of a game = proving you're not worthless.
