what is being done about the shortage of players i heard that the rosters where going to get cut down to 46-47 is this going to happen soon

I think the OP should say, shortage of "good players"
There are players available, but not very good currently (as I continue to look for a SS). I think something needs to change, and I'm on the salary cap and teams not paying for EQ band wagon, but there's so much to think about going that route, and there may be other ideas be floated around that I'm unaware of...

The shortage will be the players 80 days and under as many people will be starting over with those players, so level 14-26 capped leagues will find the going much tougher
not forcing players 80 days and younger to choose an archetype if they don't want to might help that situation, but it appears that ship has already sailed

Yea, i mentioned in alpine's recruiting thread that it seems there are less good builds in FA this year than previously. I think possibly because farm teams are starting to come into play and the consolidation of talent is taking hold. Wasn't as noticeable previous seasons because farm teams didn't really start heavy till like seasons 5-6. Will be rough for some teams this offseaso filling their rosters. I can see some extra guts happening once teams realize they won't be able to field a full top notch team.
my opinion - it will all sort itself out over the next couple of seasons -

It will attempt to sort itself out over the next couple of seasons, but more crazy changes will continue to push the couple of seasons into the distance....

there will be a huge shortage of DTs in 7 to 8 seasons as all 1-2 seasons old, pass rushing type DTs are forced to retire.

from my point of view all linemen will not want to retire and just select a archtype due to the siginificant loss of algs from the new archtypes .
