Discussion about whether the Super Vision VA is overpowered on LBs.

Most agree that, while the VA is effective, it is more likely a result of a more solid build.

Keep in mind that this is merely discussion, and currently there are no plans in motion to nerf SV at this time.

The discussion is ongoing...

I think that super vision is currently too powerful for LBs. When LBs get the option to add an SA with archetypes, I think that all but the most specialized run defending or blitzing LBs will be forced to take this SA.

I can't offer anything really concrete to back this up, but I will say that Valhalla's LBs and LBs on many other top teams have been using SV AEQ on LBs for a while. It makes a gigantic difference and imo is too much better than the next best option.

I think the solution is for SV to have a muted effect when used by LBs.

I don't know...the only LBs I can remember seeing it on, also had damn good builds for their age to back it up.

It will probably also be addressed and nerfed whenever catch decides to test the SAs.

I have several LBs at various levels with Supervision and without...and while it is definitely good, it is far from over-powered as far as I can tell.

I would argue Shed Block and Monster hit are at least as good, if you build the LB to support those SAs (including the appropriate AEQ). First Step and Blitz are also very viable for certain builds.

Also, god forbid we allow LBs a little more access to quality SAs?

I don't think SV is OP at LB. Mostly what it does is stop fakes. Not sure it matters. D needs more love, not less.

I thought it did a plenty other things... what about the vision check to see the ball carrier on run plays and vision check to see the ball after it's thrown? Those are both pretty key rolls.

There's some quality disagreement ITT though. I guess I could be wrong.

It will definitely be up there on the SAs LBs will choose. I think a lot will go with Wrap Up Tackle as well though. At least I know I will for my run defending LB.

Yep. it's the extreme speed and uncannily sure tackling that makes [the] LBs so effective. The SV helps, but you could certainly sub First Step, Monster Hit, Shed Block maybe Change Direction, Wrap Up Tackle or a few others and you would still be just as effective overall.

Also, some talk in the thread about Pump Fake being overpowered.

agree, it's not overpowered. It's a solid choice for the OOP SA, but I've seen avg LBs with 10 in SV and they're still pretty average.

SV helps and is nice, especially if you drop your LB's into zone, but is not crazy/powerful, just more useful than the crap SA's LB's get.

Pretty much agree. SV is a legit SA... So if you nerf it on LB's, then what the heck are LB's going to use? There are really not many useful SA's for the position IMO.
