Warrior General Games

Well, I think we all have to be pretty pleased with the competitive nature of Alpha this season. Not a slight on you Zeta guys but I only have time to do Alpha so it's Alpha we are talking about

When looking at the rest of the pending match ups I am amazed by the number of games that seem to be tossups. Anyone who wants a home playoff game had better not take a single week off because most aren't and I have a feeling a game or even tie breakers could decide who gets the big cash and the home crowd and who is slugging it across the sea. Now, let's get to the rundown.

1 Gold Coast Michelin Men 9-0-0

My boys are still holding on to that #1 spot as the sole remaining undefeated team in OPL. I am as surprised as many of you but apparently not as surprised as some of the Indy guys. I am feeling the red dot on my forehead and welcome the challenge of earning the trip to the WL to represent OPL. Our schedule is pretty brutal the rest of the way so I doubt we make it through unblemished but we will be happy to play a postseason game at home tbh.

2 Indianapolis Gurupies 8-1-0

This is a team that is going to be very dangerous in the second half of this season and down the road for seasons to come. I know they are hungry to get a hold of us and have a shot at the top spot but we too are looking forward to that game. If Indy can beat GCMM they should be able to hold on to #1 into the postseason but they do have some tough games so nothing is even close to a lock there.

3 Eastern European Alliance 7-2-0

EEA has slipped a bit but only because of the level of the competition and the fact that you can't win them all without a distinct advantage. None of us seem to have that over the conference so I could see what has happened here happening to any team on the list. EEA still has a shot at the top seed if they can get some breaks with the teams above them losing. This team is still growing so expect them to be playing their best dotball when it counts the most.

4 Gold Coast Vipers 7-2-0

GCV is probably a bit disappointed with 2 losses but I think they knew they needed a bit of time for their younger guys to be ready to contribute at the highest level. This team is still growing fast so don't count them out and I could see them easily beating any team remaining on their schedule. We at GCMM at looking forward to the game with GCV and while we respect our brothers from the might Gold Coast, we also enjoy taking the title as best team in Gold Coast home with us.

5 Melbourne Marvels 6-3-0

The Marvels are really a big time sleeper in this race. While the three losses may keep them out of the top 2 most likely it doesn't make it a stretch for them to get 3-4 and if the teams above them all nosedive who knows what could happen. I have a feeling this is a team that we at GCMM don't want to play again and I have been very impressed with the way these dots play the game.

6 Christchurch Fighting Maori 6-3-0

Christchurch may be having a bit of an off season but they too are growing quickly and we know their front office is tight so with the right scenario I could see this team pulling the shocker and winning it all. It would be fitting after last season that the Maori go WL next but tbh we want to go This is another game we can't wait to plan for.

7 Springville Renagades 6-3-0

Springville is still hanging tough but is in a position where they could drop out soon if they slip an inch. Their schedule is as tough as any and I am not wishing it but I could see someone challenging them for their spot. This is a great team and staff so they are working hard I'm sure to make certain that won't happen.

8 Three Mile Island Meltdowns 5-4-0

TMI is also doing a great job in their debut season but need to be wary of the many pitfalls before them. I know several teams feel like they are as good as this team for now and will be confident they can beat them when given the opportunity. This team is young enough to get a lot better by playoff time and will probably have a good head of steam if they've done what it takes to get there.

9 Freedom Town Band of Brothers 5-4-0
10 Death Dealers 4-5-0

Freedom Town and the Death Dealers both have teams good enough to earn a playoff bid and both probably feel like they have something to prove. Watch these teams closely as they will have some games they need to win and if they do will probably be in the playoff picture.

11 Telstar Rebels 4-5-0
12 (N.M.I) Pagan Fire Eaters 4-5-0
13 Taylor Bulldogs 4-5-0
14 Micronesia Megalodons 2-7-0
15 Fiji Ventures 1-8-0
16 Guam Chamoros Rising Sun Devils 0-9-0

The rest of the pack has some teams that could make a move but probably aren't quite where they need to be to do so. I wish I had time to break you all down as there are some good teams here but I am simply stretched too thin right now.

Indy isnt really surprised at anything yet. Didnt really know enough about many of the teams until the games started. We didnt have alot to go on besides knowing who the tough teams were that came from AAA with us. Their matchups and ours are helping figure things out, and the air is starting to clear.

Alot of good teams and one of the better forums in the game imo. Should be a great 2nd half

I was really just making a joke about the Indy guys who came into my recruiting thread and heckled me. It was all good natured I think but one doesn't need anything even remotely negative in their recruiting threads so I have put an extra circle around the Indy game on the calendar to make sure I am ready to get my retrobution for the disrespect sent my way from the Indy fanboys

Yeah, I read that thread when you made such a big deal of it. You said your team was #1 team in OPL and heading to the WL and one person said Gurupies IMO. I don't see that as heckled. We didn't send guys to harrass you. That is not us. If you want to circle our matchup in your mind--so be it. It shouldn't take your so-called heckling to do that and it certainly wasn't "guys" trying to hurt your recruiting. I don't see any bad blood between us whatsoever and hope you don't either. I would rather lose to a good team then march through beating gutted teams every game.

We haven't been able to replace the guys who left at all. Recruiting is broken. Sure we'd love to have a big time CB, WR or FS come in to help right now, but our young guys are doing the job. Still if I would post a thread 1/4 of the way into a season, I wouldn't put #1 team in OPL and heading to thw WL whether we were in first place or not. But Im not mad atcha whatsoever. Just think you're making something out of nothing.

With that said, I hate when people complain about recruiting. It sucks, yes - is it broken? No way.

I've been doing the recruiting since the inception of ALS (with very little official help) and never once have I said it was broken, even when I had shit seasons like last season - it was my own fault because I started late and never was able to pull together the team I wanted.

I changed that this season. So please spare me the recruiting is broken talk - if you have a good team (as you clearly do) its pretty simple to get great dots and tad bit more difficult to get elite dots.

Maybe I'm just a good recruiter? But I doubt that..

Why in the world would we recruit a player who isn't as good as our current team? FTR, our CBs are damn good, we just couldn't replace our stud who got old on us. Recruiting is broken when you put someone on the block and get 40 offers a day for him--all cash. There are simply more teams than there are players to fill them. Even harder to get an agent who has an idea of what is going on. Normally you have to find a build that is salvageable and spend time "fixing" it. As the person chiefly responsible for recruiting on all of our teams every season since S1, I am comfortable with my previous statement. Feel free to continue to disagree. We can continue to agree to disagree and it won't make me think less of you. Other top teams have had to merge to solve recruiting problems so you may be one of the few owners who beleive there are no issues with recruiting. Maybe you're a recruiting GOD.

The top 10-15% of CB's are a dime a dozen tbh. 95+Speed/Agility. 68+Jumping 80+vision 55+ Strength and Tackling are all pretty standard.

That's the easy position to recruit imo.

I think you would take any of those CB's builds I posted above, for your team, right? If you can't get 2-4 each season, then you are doing something wrong(taking into consideration you keep a couple from the previous season)

Yes, there are a ton of teams out there, more than dots, this has always been the "problem". But 3/4, have NO IDEA how to recruit. I feel comfortable in that number. You sir, know how to recruit. No reason you should have issue beating the remaining 1/4.

Now I do agree with you about finding an agent who knows what the fuck is going on - those agents are certainly rare but by no means to make a claim that recruiting is broken because you can't find these guys, that's why its called recruiting.

And yes, we've all salvaged builds - I do have sympathy for you there
