About as well as it does inside the red zone, not very well.

It should do quite well against runs between the tackles, but can be burned for a long TD on a pitch. It's also a recipe for disaster against many types of passes, which is why most people don't use it at all.

Goal Line Defense vs. Goal Line Offense is the only time it should ever be used. The only other time it would be remotely feasible is if you do extensive scouting and can pick out a short yardage run every time with no change and use it then.

i've seen times where a run from goalline form against a goalline D goes for a long TD because once the back gets through the line there's no one there to stop him... here's a recent example...
