Warrior General Games

I played in a keeper fantasy baseball league about 15 years ago. At the draft, the host dropped Paul Molitor who had graced his roster for most of his career. The guy owned a basset hound, and as soon as the drop was announced this dog started howling. The coach was cursed and to this day has not won a single fantasy league.

The Nashville Hounds came in to this contest 0-7. They had lost to the Ministry of Dotball by 65 points earlier in the year. While the Warriors were 5-2 and had only lost to MOD by a single point just two games before this match up. Should be a luau style roasting right? Would the hounds lay down like (under) dogs they were entering the game? Or would they come to life and bite HHW in the ass? Let's take a look...

The Hounds get the ball first and on their first offensive play hit a nice gainer. A 24-yard connection from Chillsbury Throwboy to Silly Bims:

HHW face a 4th and .5 from their own 36 and decide to pound it for the first. But Defensive General steps up and drops him for no-gain. A NT making an impact, nice!

The Hounds take over but Willie Young sacks Ultimate Disaster to force the team to settle for another FG:

The Warriors then force Nashville to go three and out after a nice deflection by Bee Line:

The Hounds defense steps up though as they would all day. Andre Arlovski gets a sack on first down and the Franchise is rattled:

The very next play, Franchise looks for M.J. All Day Jordan. But due to the hit he sees three of them in the pattern. He decides to throw to the one in the middle, bad choice, the pass is picked off by Alex Teems and returned to the HHW 21:

They say it is not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog. And Nasvhille was not backing down today. The Warriors drive to the Hounds 40.5-yard line just before the half, but decide to punt it away instead of trying a 57.5-yard FG. A FG try there would have been worth a try I think.

The Warriors get the ball first in the second-half. But this deflection by Gerald Hodges forces a punt:

Craziness. In general I hate these turnover-spiral games because I've experienced more than my fair share, but I have to admit that they make for some interesting upsets. Congrats to the Hounds.
