Warrior General Games

Mostly just to get some discussion going. A lot of this is guesswork at this point. This is a lot more difficult than it was in AA last season.

1) Pretoria - Not real familiar with them but strong roster plus word of mouth has them at the top right now

2) Kiev Dynamos - A couple of strong wins over what appear to be quality Bamako and Sharapova teams nets them this spot

3) Ironton Tanks - my good buddy and arch-nemesis from AA1 last season has his Tanks among the cream of AAA1.

4) Wrightstown Tigers - Just a hunch but I think I have them a little higher than they should be. But they haven't played any tough competition yet and could prove me wrong.

5) Zimbabwe Blames Stu - No reason I can see they should be this good but they have earned this spot based on their quality play.

6) Sahara Sand Storm - Put up bigger numbers on Wallachia's defense than anyone has in the past 2 seasons and have a knack for winning close games.

7) Bamako Black Magic - A hiccup vs Kiev but these guys are good and will be a force in Lion Division.

8) Thompson Hunters - Sort of like Ironton from what I can gather...strong vets but will the lack of depth and the inactive guys hurt them?

9) Lake Opeta Legionnaires - Not drinking the Lake Opeta Kool Aid just yet. They are obviously well coached and did slip by a quality Fat Jaws team but don't appear quite experienced enough to make a championship run.

10) Wallachia Wamphyrii - Just slip into the top ten by a hair. They may move higher in the coming polls simply b/c they have a pretty easy schedule up until the hit the Pretoria roadblock.

On the bubble:
Appalachicola, Fat Jaws, Taipei(too many inactives), Maria Sharpova

Dark Horse to watch: Samoan - once they get their chemistry up they could make some noise

Looks good and thanks for doing these but did you have to put Kiev so high as if I didn't have enough pressure on me already for this upcoming game.

I like how we're on the bubble but in the other PR's we were the 3rd worst team in our conference.

lol.....didn't think about doing a GOTW write up. Last year I tried to do one for each conference...here's a quick one.

Lion:
Wallachia vs Somali - This is the only matchup of teams with winning records this week but I really don't expect this one to be in doubt. Somali has some quality players but have poor depth and several inactive guys. Meanwhile, the Wamphyrii appear to have gotten out of their preseason funk and are clicking both offensively and defensively. Wallachia 49 Somali 10


Elephant:
Sahara vs Kiev - Wow....matchup of epic proportions early in the season in the more balanced Elephant division. I know from first hand experience how tough Sahara can be. They have scored 40+ points each game and not against cupcakes. However, Kiev just looks like a freakin' steamroller. I expect this one to be a very good game and given that I don't have a clue or a coin to flip, I'm going to pick Sahara simply b/c the and Suthrner are both in South Carolina so how's that for objectivity? I readily admit I'm clueless which makes me almost as qualified as the guys that vote in the AP poll so I'm just going on how you guys have performed and against who. All that technical crap goes way over my head.

I think you may have the Tanks a little to high though...next time drop us out of the top 10. Out of sight, out of mind.

Ok, that one makes sense.

Wow....missed the Kiev/Sahara game big time. Somali also put up a much better fight than expected. That game was closer than the score and Somali's depth killed them in the 2nd half. They defensed the rushing QB very well.

Appalachicola and Wrightstown made some major statements as well. I still think the Sharapova's are good

Should of been a little closer but I took some chances on 4th down and they made me pay. That still wouldn't have made up their excellent game planning and QB. Maybe I'm giving them to much credit but it seems they have an uncanny ability to pick out your favorite passing plays and then using the new progression line to double your favorite targets. If that's so it would take some serious film study.

Thanks for the #2, some one had us #8 in conf coming in so I will just be happy with playoffs. Strong teams here Elephant seems to be very strong and should make for some great games this season. Thanks for the rankings not like we needed anymore pressure on the team. I like to read them just wish we were more of an unkown at this point. Thanks to the powers to be in giving me my first five games against undefeated teams, damn pressure. Hope to see some more rankings again, nice job.
