Warrior General Games

1) Swaziland Dachshunds (W) - Despite their loss to MEM and The King calling them out but not calling them out, they are the team to beat in APL. No pressure here fellas...

2) District 9 Prawns (W) - Defense is smothering, offense looks good! No excuses from either team as I get the sense Saturday could turn into a blood bath for early Lion supremacy. The number one seed could be decided in as early as week 3.

3) Windhoek White Rhinos (W) - See above, I look forward to this dot ball game!

4) GRiTs (W) - Just grinding it out and happy to not be 0-2 like last season. 2-0, medication and some alcohol make me happy...

5) Sons of Anubis (W) - Something about teams with a Carthage theme has brought out the best in the Sons. Hays is not happy about this one!

6) Rhodesia Ratels (W) - These flesh eating rodents seem to have come back hungry, curious to see how their next two games turn out with the Asmara Freedom Fighters and Pirgos Warlords

7) Kickin Djibouti (L) - Not so sure what to make of this loss today, did somebody forget today was game day or do we have a Gemini team in the Freedom Fighters who got pummeled by the District 9 Prawns a few days ago only to come back with a nice win today.

8) Pirgos Warlords (L) - Nice game today against the GRiTs, but in the end the old dogs got it done. The ageless Brock showed that he is so fast that he defies any type of decline with a stat line of 11 Tackles, 3 Hurries, 8 Sacks and an INT....

I am going to leave Kickin and Pirgos at 7 and 8, only because it is early and I will be somewhat forgiving tonight. Please don't make me look foolish!

9) Uganda Mounties (W) - I know nothing about this team other than that whenever I look at their name I think it should be Panties because any word that ends in ties should always start with Pan. Tough stretch for this upstart so I would say pay by the night for now, your stay might quick!

10) Somalia Warlords (W) - Only because we play them in a few days and I want Punk to remember me being nice to him and his team. We all know this team is solid and will make some noise by seasons end....

Some in the Lion might feel slighted, to that I say show me something! A win over PP or the Rhino's will surely get you a spot where the elite meet!

APL All-time Rankings:

1) Windhoek White Rhinos - Greatest APL team of all-time
2) Lake Opeta Legionnaires - Second greatest APL team of all-time
3) The Last Gunfighters of Texas - Another long time Elephant power and the only one that could give USAORG/LOL a game for a while there
4) Dar es Salaam Warrior Kings - Long time Lion power
5) Angola Spider Monkeez - These guys were around in APL since about the beginning right? Always a really good team with at leas a couple conference titles
6) DD - Primed to tear up APL for many seasons had it not been for a WL promotion
7) Sierra Leone Stallions - were they good for a few seasons or am I just dreaming this up?
8) GRitS - Becoming a long time Elephant staple
9, 10, etc) Conakry Coyotes, SISW, Boston Dogs, Dakar, and maybe some others that had short, but successful stints.

4. Dakar - 1 APL Championship, good WL success
5. ASM - 1 APL Championship, 2 Conference Championships, Only the second team to have a perfect season
6. TLGoT - 1 APL Championship, 3 Conference Championships (APL, AAA, AA)
7. DesWK - 1 APL Championship, constant playoff success
8. GRitS - Tons of playoff and league success, still needs to finish it off
9. SLS - Great team that always fell behind LOL/TLGoT/DD

oh, hey there Hokie - you must have a radar out on these forums for any mention of LOL Looks like you guys will be back here shortly huh?

For full disclosure, I'll categorize my pick as more of a homer choice than dyslexia, although the WWRs do own a 2-0 lead over LOL in regular season and playoff matchups

That seems about right... I forgot DD won APL a second time after coming back from WL - they are clearly the #3 team then. It is a lot tougher to measure just an "APL" dynasty with WL promotion now as someone like Dakar doesn't have much for the way of an APL resume compared to ASM, TLGoT, or DesWK who were in the league for many seasons, but they have been the most successful WL squad.

The reason I put Dakar so high is because if they weren't in the WL last season they would have been a serious threat for a 2nd APL title. They probably would have been favorites out of Elephant even with Boston being really strong last year.

I wish the UN had been able to put together some success at the Pro level - we had one good season but then the team just started to crumble, due to players retiring, coaches and agents leaving, etc. But at least we had one constant, greatness at the WR position

If we'd kept it together between S9 and S11... we were on pace to compete for a berth in the WL...

Of course the UN is still #1 on our lists, and in our hearts, when it comes to AA#3

Still 2 LOLion teams ahead of us? Come on. We all know we're playing for the gold.jpg in Elephant. Why even have that 2nd conference?

All I know is 1 of our 2 teams have been around these last 4 (or so) seasons (and 1 WL season)...
