I'm looking for new tournament ideas. Not really looking to add any official level tournaments (Cap 14, Cap 32, AA, AAA etc). I think the folks who step up and run them are doing a great job, and don't want to step on their toes.

I'm hoping we can come up with some unique ideas.

One idea I had was an Undefeated Tournament. I could run several of these for different cap levels, and include only teams who are undefeated after Week 5 or 6.

If you have any other ideas, let's hear them. Bring any kind of concept. if it's fun and people are interested, we'll do it and award some flex and trophies!

I have had ideas...........have not put much thought past that though

one would be a diversion of sorts.

Canadian League tourney---- 3 plays only (you would have to put the first input of the ai to fourth down-QB kneel, in case some other punt on third ai output failed.)

This may be too tough to work out, but, as you stated, just ideas.
sue me if it is too ridiculous.

That's kinda neat. I think it would be fun, but the issue I would see is teams forgetting to change their AI after a league game. Then we'd have people complaining the games were too close, or that they paid and did't get a fair shake, etc.

But, I'd entertain it. Keep the ideas coming.

Some ideas:

Best of the Rest Tourney - Only teams who have never won a gold trophy are allowed to enter. Makes the chase exciting for those in it (Potential of winning first major trophy).

Defending Champions Tourney - Only teams who won a trophy the previous season are allowed to enter. Not sure if this would get enough interest though.

The first one is a really good idea. I'll add it to the list that we'll for sure do.

How about we do it for these levels:

L34/38
L42/46
AA/AAA
Pro/WL

I'm thinking that levels below that might have lower interest, and also teams are still developing their players, etc.

What do you think?

i like second 1 also. while my team didn't win gold(we got silver) we were in a league that pretty much sucked, no competition
would be cool to go against all top teams from that cap.
glad i got put into a more competitve league this season.

What about coordinating mid-to-late season "Regional Challenges"? Pro level, AAA level, and AA level could all occur, and work just like the unofficial Pro regional challenges that happen every season. Have a signup period, a cutoff date where records are calculated and teams ranked per record, then line 'em up and each side gets one game.
Work would need to be done to decide which regions face off each season, when the game would be, etc.

How about a 'speed' tournament. Tournament is limited to 16 teams and takes place over a weekend. First game at 9am on Saturday, Second game at 9pm on Saturday, Semi-Final 9am Sunday, Final 9pm on Sunday.

You could run these by regions and run one every other weekend or so.

And we could all do speed while we watched the games.
