You put the rushing QB at QB1 and set the play to TE1 spot, and do a pass because most teams will set the rushing QB to a run defense.

You put the Rushing QB @ QB1. I got this part. But "set the play to TE1 spot" lost me. Then, do a pass because most teams will set up their Rushing QB D?

If you're asking if you can put the rushing QB at the TE1 spot and put him in the field, and are wondering if the rushing QB at the TE spot will trigger the rushing QB defense the answer is NO. When you tag the rushing QB, you only tag him and make the output trigger if that player was in the QB slot.

If you're asking something else, then I'm confused.

I mean you put him also at TE 1 and choose for the TE in the play to be TE1

It wouldn't matter.

Look at the options available on the drop down menu. Then think of it like this:

If a DC wants to tag the rushing QB and stop the QB roll outs or sneaks, then he tags the rushing QB as "rusher" and makes an output with "rusher" selected in the QB slot. The only way this output would be triggered is if that QB is actually IN the QB slot. If he's in the TE slot, it won't trigger unless you have the TE tagging set to "rusher", which would be a poor idea.

best way to "trick" the Defense is to teach the rushing QB to throw

Pretty much. Being able to have one player who can do multiple things (rush inside, outside, pass, block, etc.) can make the DC's job tougher in terms of tagging him. The more he can do, the more the DC has to defend.

Don't use rushing qb in formations other than I, strong I, single back. (maybe 5 wide, but those plays don't work very well

Use the rushing QB for handing the ball off when using the HB or FB for running plays. At least they'll have tagged the wrong rusher.

something like this happened a few seasons ago. I was playing an opponent and their passing QB lined up at TE while their rushing QB lined up at QB as normal. But with the passing QB at TE, my defense did not go to the QB run stop like I set it up for.

I think they fixed that now, haven't seen that since and haven't tried doing it myself.
