Are there any effective tactics to stop a rushing QB (outside runs)

Best you can do is play a 34.

or zone underneath and defend on the outside rush.

4-3 w/zone or 3-4 m2m underneath? Or 3-4 zone. 100%out runs or less? Pass D or run D %'s? F**in QB runners in casual!

If you play a 3-4, your LB's will be pushed to the outside more and they'll have a better chance at stopping him. From what I've seen, if a team runs wildcat in casuals, they are really just hurting themselves.

Think about...
If you run the ball and have a passing QB, that means that passing QB (who can't run at all) will run a decent amount, which is them not putting their best foot forward.

If your wildcat QB passes, he's probably not great at that either, so again, they're hurting their offense for a trivial gain.

If you do nothing but run (which is what many wildcat casual teams do), then you just play run 100% of the time and blitz everyone, every down.

Honestly, I would just focus on stopping their other stuff because they're not doing themselves any favors by trying to wildcat it in the casuals.

Went 3-4, all outside focus 50 weak,50% strg, 30% blitz, 90% run D and got great results. Run QB got 2 plays over 10 yds, but was TFL a few times. Also played 40% zone and somehow stopped their pass game. In AAA Casual so great players made it work also. Thanks.

I stopped a team with a rushing QB with a Spy Man package ... set all the LB's to SPY QB... Kinda worked....3-4 prolly good.

Yeah I had OLBs on 40% spy and ILBs 30%. Wish FS had a spy set also.
