I figured i'd repost what i put in that thread so we could figure it out. I won't be home till tomorrow evening so don't expect immediate feedback/decisions

Important InfoAbout tiebreakers and people who didn't pick them:

I know a lot of people didn't pick tiebreakers because they're either 1- stupid or 2- can't read and people have been asking about being able to add one in now and i have a few thoughts and want to know what other people think

- On one hand, it was clear in the OP that there were tiebreakers involved. I even had it bulleted. There really is no excuse considering it was right there. It was in my original post too so i didn't add it in later or anything. The only things i edited for was to add the fact that there was actual flex on the line donated by Alpine Golfer's Cavalier and Catch22/hazy.
- I do understand that in this kinda format with around 80 entries and only 16 teams (plus half the 1st round matchups had no chance of being upsets so everyone got those right) there were going to be a good amount of people with the same bracket especially since there haven't been any major upsets yet
- Even if all those people did put tiebreakers, if blaze/valhalla win we'd probably have some people with identical tiebreakers
- Allowing people to add tiebreakers now might be considered unfair since they can use what has happened now to possibly adjust what it'd be (some teams are scoring higher and others playing in grind it out games)

These are the options i see and i'll let you guys kinda decide what you want (also, hazy and cav weighing in on this would be nice since it's their flex on the line)

1- People who didn't pick tiebreakers are SOL because it's 100% their fault they didn't put one in and there are no excuses
2- Allow everyone still in the running to pick total points in the title game via PM and i can add all of them to the original post so everyone can see them and if someone happens to do the same tiebreakers i will PM them and ask them to pick a 2nd tiebreaker title game thing (maybe total offensive yards or something like that)
3- ???

What are your thoughts? Do not PM me with any tiebreaker stuff because i won't read it at the moment. If we do allow new tiebreaker entries i'll let you know when to PM me

Here is an idea maybe... Let the people who put a tiebreaker battle each other for 8k flex from hazy, and let all the others pick their tiebreakers to win the 2k flex from Alpine.

Go with the total points like it was said in the OP. For people who picked final score just add their two scores together. Total points means total points. I don't think I've ever seen a fantasy bracket where total points meant "final score in the championship game." If that's what you wanted, then have Packman and me send you final scores through a PM. I honestly think total points is easier because how do you determine who was closer on the final scores if the final is 31-3 and someone picks 31-23 and another guy picks 21-3. They both got the winner and one of the final scores right? You're going to end up using total points anyway.

Clearly some people haven't ever played in the March Madness bracket challenges.

^ this isn't the problem... The problem is that lots of people didn't even put in a tiebreaker score, and he is trying to figure out what to do with that problem.

I say...those that followed the rules win the tiebreaker.

I would do...

1) Those that entered total points get preference in the tiebreak.
2) Those that entered final score get a second chance if none entered a final score and the person closest to the final score would win.
3) Those that didn't enter a tiebreaker would split if it gets that far.

You gotta follow the rules, imo.

This isn't really fair imo. It's trivial to derive total points from final score, and I'm sure that people would have just input total points if that wasn't the case.

FWIW I think that people should have been able to figure out there needed to be a tie breaker, and the rules were really short and easy to read, so anybody who didn't has only themselves to blame. I don't feel too strongly either way though.

Actual score like (14-7) should be above total score like just (66) imo

Also it just seems silly to have someone pick the total score to be 35 and then someone pick 40 and other scores like that. IMO it is a much easier tiebreaker decision to just go by actual score over total score. Going with actual score will also help to prevent final ties because it will go to whoever is closest to picking the actual score of the game, and not by just a total score. For instance say someone says total score will be 70 then someone says 64 then the final score ends up being 67 they both win. If you go by actual score then someone that picks 35-21 will beat someone that picks 40-10 if the final score ends up being 38-24.

I dont really think it matter as long as the person actually put in a score that should be all that is needed imo
