Full disclosure: I am a first year owner, but have been here since season 1, day 19. I own the Burundi Hutu and my team is almost completely made of my players. I'm saying this because I don't fully know the ends and outs of what it takes to have a great team and yes, I am one of those guys.
That said, I ranked Lion Conference on what I believe to be the elements that create a good team (chemistry not included- everyone is basically the same). Also, all rankings are based on HUMAN players, not CPU. This is an interactive online game WITH OTHER PEOPLE so I IGNORED CPU players in considering depth and how good a team is. Due to this, a team may post a better record than where I put them, but through no real ability of their own or the players they recruited.
Without a game under our belts to see how good a team can gameplan, I have placed teams into categories instead of a simple 1 to 16 rundown. These categories have no set number and don't take into consideration anything other than my opinion (I don't have a fancy formula or numerical value attached to players- this leaves some breathing room for bad player builds, bad coaching, etc.). These teams are also in these categories in no particular order. Order will come later in the season. First I gave out awards to best units.
Some team awards (in some cases depth was considered):
Best QB: Johannesburg
Best RBs: Nigeria- have the depth, but Ethiopia has the best back
Best WRs: Katangas- depth and human
Best O-line: Mozambique- best starters, but could still use some depth
Best D-line: Johannesburg- DTs are nasty
Best LBs: Scottish- can't overlook that level 18 dude
Best Secondary: Nigeria- minor points off that best CB is CPU, but decent depth and players
Best K and P: Red Sea- too bad it's the best part of this team
Team that thinks they are better than they are: A.C.T.- no depth on the team to be any good
Laziest Team: River City- dude, go get some human players, all CPU D is weak
And now on to the Power Rankings:
Worst Teams- Teams in AA for a long time
Tijuana- no depth, almost all level 1s and 4s
River City- horrible offense, CPU defense
A.R.T.- no depth
Decent Teams- Teams that may be good with coaching
Oklahoma- Too many CPU players to be higher
Red Sea- See above
Band of- No real strength to the team
Katanga- Good depth, but holes in roster
Solid Teams- Playoff teams, but aren't really champion material
Cape Verde- Solid, but needs...SOMETHING to stand out
Burundi- O line will help until backups get better
Rhein- too many CPU players to be considered elite
Scottish- all human players means good negotiator
Ethiopia- wanted to put in elite, but too many CPU players
Nigeria- too many level 4s on depth chart to be elite
Beltway- decent depth, but lacking in some areas
Best Teams- Legitimate chance to win Lion Conference
Mozambique- Low level QB hurts, but solid all around otherwise
Johannesburg- depth everywhere and easily the favorite
Prediction-
Conference Champ- Johannesburg
Now let the debate begin:
