what should I focus on other than speed?

agility and vision. For example get speed and agility to 50 normal and vision to 40. I would also split the equipments among all 3 (4 in each by lvl 16). Also get catching to 30 and carrying to 25.

Wow, my speed is at 47 right now. I've got a lot of work to do if I'm going to reach those levels. He's a CB, but I'm looking to make him the return specialist of my team. Right now, he's only a LVL 4.

Yeah you'll only reach those values around lvl 15 or so. It would be a good build for CB as well, but just add 25 tackling and 30 strength to the above as well as 26 jumping.

Those seem like really high numbers even for level 15... I got a CB that i just boosted to level 10, and i cant see how he'll hit such heights by level 15. maybe i've made him to rounded a CB rather than explicitly a KR/PR.

Ummm why cathing to 30? It doesnt help returning kicks. And agility doesn't need to be that high. I keep agility and vision about the same.

Speed @ 47 on a level 4? All your starter & boost points & equipment?

it's not that crazy... my guy is a level 16 with 73 speed 42 agility and 32 vision. all he does is return kicks and punts.

he is a level 4 not 14... that makes it a diffrent story... 43 speed is good and he is on track to be a good return man

You don't want to risk dropping punts and kickoffs now do you? That could be a game breaker.

Also agility does need to be that high for a successful return specialist, you could probably get a good extra 10-15yards with high agility. Your blockers most likely won't help you after the 1st 30 or so yards so you need a lot of agility to go further and make guys miss. It will also be easier to take it to the house with high agility.

Agility affectsyour cuts. Speed affects how fast you can go. And right now, I have never seen anyone muff a punt or kick cause I don't think you can right now. you would be better served putting the points in vision rather then agility.

Agility also affects how fast you get to top speed. You also might want to get strength up to break tackles.

Catching is useless once you train it to 20 or so for a kick returner imo. If you were going to put points into anything other then speed, agl and vision (in that order), then I would put it into strength.

Once vision is at 35 or so agility > vision

Just my humble opinion.
