Bort is tinkering with zone Ds on the test server, trying to make it more "human" and asked for someone to run a test

It sure seems a little better (though it'd have been nice to be able to set up 1 scrim as it was before and another with the current changes to compare). Keep in mind, the CBs don't have zone spec.

I think you may need to lengthen the KL span just a little, too...Maybe 1/2 way between where it was and where it is now?

this would need to be looked at by bort and something changed i think - it looks like the receiver catches a TD in the end zone and then fumbles
if he has possession in the end zone it should be a TD or it needs to be an incomplete pass and not a fumble in this situation

but i like the way zones are looking there - not every player on the field is able to get to the ball by the time it makes it to the receiver

Yeah...that's in the list of plays I have that "aren't right" above.

thanks PP - on a side note - from what I can see - test games on the test server still aren't getting a time stamp - which makes it tougher to keep track of (for me).

could you get the other testers to date their own comments on a game?

example:

instead of:
1648: 14-7 PP test pulling Gs with 100 speed & 80 agility
(player summary)


put:
1648: 14-7 - 12/29 - PP test pulling Gs with 100 speed & 80 agility
(player summary)

And defenders can still not deflect a pass unless they are humping the WR's leg : /

LB could have possibly got a hand on that pass.

It just seems that the height of passes is screwed up. Anything besides a bullet pass completely ignores any defenders between the QB and receiver...it's like QB's throw passes 50 yards up in the air...except the flight time doesn't match that.

Put your post on the test server...You can look at the team page to get that, but don't see the harm in including it either

im a little concerned by the frequency of WR fumbles...seems like we are going from a shit ton of KL passes to a shit ton of fumbles...passing is already somewhat of a concern as it is...

4 fumbles by WR's in that game alone...its much more rare for WR's to fumble in real life than HB's...so im hoping that PP's recommendation to Bort fixes this...

ya coincidentally (with the KL/Fumble change) - did anyone see the play in the Texans / Dolphins game this past weekend?

Chris Brown catches a pass over the middle - tucks the ball - gets crushed - ball goes flying - and even on review it is ruled incomplete. Struck me as exactly like some of the plays in GLB people have complained about

completely agree...That's why I included that section saying this needs to be looked at/tweaked, even though that wasn't the test I was running.

Everyone's original theory was that "WRs wouldn't fumble if the Jackhammer VA wasn't kicking in!"
This obviously isn't holding true, but how much of it is sim tweaking vs WR builds that could be adjusted? I don't have a WR so I really don't know how feasible changing WR builds is.

it depends on how much is needed to counteract such a thing? it almost seems like WR's are taking bigger hits than HB's in these sims. all the crap in the world couldnt really help knocked loose all that much...so it just leaves me a bit worried..i mean...is 48 carrying and strength enough? 60? 68?

i would rather zone get fixed to reasonably beatable before we talk about WR builds being adjusted at least...zone is overpowered as it is...adding a fumblitis sector into the mix could be potentially god awful.

All in all, I think the CBs reaction in zone could be reduced a smidge more, but is about right. I also think that the QB needs to do a better job of throwing to the weak spots in zones, not throwing when the WR hits the weak spot. It's often too late then. I'd like to see a few more big plays. It's something that just doesn't happen much anymore in the passing game. I think the fake WRs could use 1 more bump (at the same lvl you bumped them each individual time in the off ssn), and that'd help a little. I also believe that these changes help provide that a little too ( http://test.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1654&pbp_id=358233 there were 2 more, bt they were the result of me selecting a zone D that didn't cover the deep balls well at all...Because of that, should have been more, really).

Now, as DB and I agreed earlier, if those things happen, I believe you also need to make PDs and ints easier to balance it. IMO, all of those acts together would make the game more fun for both sides of the ball.
